Loop after loop, plan after plan, all of my ideas and strategies to survive the night fell through terribly.

Four loops passed, and I have only failed endlessly. I've been impaled with metal rebar, struck by a collapsing telephone pole, crushed by a falling neon sign, and so on. I feel like I'm plunging further into insanity with every loop that passes.

Again and again, I perish. Again and again, I ended up right where I started, back in the everlasting comfort of my bed.

Even before I'm awake, my phone is in my hand, and I awaken from my unconsciousness at the exact moment I hurl my ringing phone across my bedroom. My phone alarm wails before striking the wall, leaving a large crack across the screen.

I smack my pillow in frustration, unable to comprehend why my plans aren't working. I continue dying no matter what! Surviving is impossible!

Sighing, I attempt to think of what to do next, but I've got nothing. I'm stumped and officially out of plans. I've tried everything! Agh, all of this is hurting my head...

As I angrily lay my head back down on my pillow, trying to construct any other plan, my thoughts are interrupted by the smell of smoke. The air fills with the scent of burning gasoline, searing into my sinuses.

What the..? Is the apartment on fire?

Sitting up, I glance around my bedroom. My eyes tiredly gaze around as thick, wispy sulfur fills the room, billowing toward the ceiling like the steamy mist after a warm shower.

I stand up from my mattress, lightheaded, as my legs tremble. I shuffle to my bedroom door, trying to make my way downstairs. Suddenly, I get struck with dizziness. The world around me spins, almost knocking me off of my feet.

I think I'm going to pass out...

I feel the noises around me wither away, growing distant as I stumble, losing my balance. I fall to the floor, and everything goes dark.

I feel myself falling through the darkness for an eternity, the pitch-black abyss around me engulfing me with a euphoric feeling of warmth and senselessness.

Traversing through the boundless void, I see no ups or downs. There are no walls, floors, or ceilings, just the constant feeling of freefall.

But there's never a moment of touchdown.

Instead, I hear something penetrating the vast silence of the abyss. A distant beeping noise grows throughout the void, nearly slicing through the air with sheer volume.
