"I don't think I can continue doing these tasks anymore. Whatever punishments are there to attack my soul, just do it."

A mass of light was floating around in a dark space with billions of stars around making that light look small and insignificant. The voice from that light was dejected and light as if nothing was important anymore. Then a mechanical voice started speaking.

[The Host has finished bzz 1000 bzz worlds... C-Con-...] A mechanical voice was heard but then it became static and went completely silent.

"..."

After a long amount of time, nothing could be heard. The mass of light started feeling puzzled at this development. 1000 worlds was not a small number, and there had never been a problem like this occurred.

"Hello? System? You always threaten to kill me if I don't work, now it's your chance."

The mass of light sneered at the empty space. Even after a painfully long amount of time, there was still no response from that devil-like mechanical voice.

"I guess after 1000 worlds, the system finally starts to malfunction... Then am I supposed to wait here until it's fixed to be disintegrated or what?"

However, the mass of light kept waiting and waiting to see no changes. It started to lose hope and just waited there for a while to accept its fate to be stuck there for eternity. Not long after it started brooding its fate, the mass of light suddenly glitched a few times.

"What bzz... the..."

The glitch did not last more than 10 seconds until it started stabilizing like normal. Then in front of the mass of light, a screen that was usually used to issue tasks appeared.

[Manual mode in progress]

"Manual mode? What's that?"

After such a long time being with the system, the mass of light had never encountered such a thing. Every time it entered a world, there would be a series of actions on the task screen that it had to perform. Incorrectly portraying the character would deduct points and the system insisted that the lower the final points, the weaker the soul would become. Therefore, the light had to stick to the script despite all of the morality issues and questionable IQ of the characters.

[New task has been generated. The new world #0193 has been located.]

[Proceed to 1001st world?]

[Yes/No]

"... You're not telling me what manual mode is then how do you expect me to answer? No! just disperse me as you have always threatened me at every twist and turn."

The light felt like fuming with the system's prompts, it wanted to punch the damn system so much but it was just a futile attempt. Both the light and the system did not possess a physical body in this dark space. The shape of the light wiggled a little until it settled down and gave up.

[Proceed to 1001st world?]

[Yes/No]

"... Fuck you... I already said no."

[Proceed to 1001st world?]

[Yes/No]

"...Do I even have a choice?"

[Proceed to 1001st world?]

[Yes/No]

"...Yes?"

[Preparing for soul transfer to world #0193. Wishing the host the best performance of the task.]

"Yeah yeah, just send me there already."

A white globe appeared from the system window and started circling the mass of light. It then picked up its speed and spun dizzily around the light until the light and the white globe disappeared together.
