Cirilinde

I bowed my head silently, staring at the ground as I stood there with Lyris, Fennorian, Gwendis and Adusa.

Verandis is gone. He stayed behind to out an end to all Rada Al-Saran did and sacrificed himself.

A tear fell.

"Verandis there has to be some other way!" I sobbed to him, staring at him with pleading eyes.

"Only I can do this, Ciril'. Now go!" Verandis commanded.

"I won't leave you Verandis, I love you!" I sobbed to him, stepping closer. "Please Verandis." I spoke, tears rolling down my cheeks.

I shook my head, trying to shake the thought. It felt as if Verandis had tore my still beating heart out as he pushed me through the portal he'd summoned.

I took a slow breath, approaching the others finally.

Gwendis was beside Fenn, the two were holding onto each other for confort.

"I'm so sorry..." I spoke softly.

Fenn broke away from Gwendis and embraced me as he cried.

I hugged the slightly taller mer.

Verandis should be here. Evulam should be here.

I frowned at the thought of the two men. Evulam had up and disappeared six months ago. Fennorian was distraught when he awoke to find Evulam gone and nobody else had seen him since the day prior.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks to months. We had all given up on Evulam returning by then.

"You promised he'd come back with you!" Gwendis shrieked at me, lunging forward only to be stopped by Lyris.

"Gwendis!" Lyris snapped. "It's not her fault!" Lyris yelled. "I saw what happened just as she did, Verandis said that he had to stay!" Lyris explained.

Gwendis trembled as tears rolled down her cheeks. "You promised!" She cried. As she stared at me she looked utterly broken.

"I know, Gwendis. And I'm sorry. I...I wish I could have brought him with us." I spoke softly.

"You need to--" Lyris began.

She was cut off when Arana suddenly appeared before us.

A soft gasp escaped me as I stared in disbelief.

"Arana?" I asked.

She nodded.

After a short conversation with Arana in which she described being pulled out of the void by Verandis I was sent off to Markarth.

Upon arrival I saw people celebrating, crying tears of joy as they hugged their loved ones again.

I smiled faintly. It was bittersweet to see all of them so happy to see their loved ones.
