---------------------------------------------------------------------

Ni-ki groaned as he looked for an outfit to wear since his school was throwing a festival for halloween. He obviously wanted to look good because not only was he popular in the entirety of 10th grade, his girlfriend who was a year above was gonna be there too. But Olivia wasn't the only one coming with him, her older brother Heeseung was going to join them. He was 2 years older than Ni-ki, which made Ni-ki the youngest out of the three.

Recently, Ni-ki had kind of been going through a crisis because he wasn't sure if he fully loved his girlfriend. Of course he knew he liked girls but he always caught himself staring at Heeseung for a little too long. Most times, he got caught which ended up with Ni-ki getting embarrassed and just saying he zoned out.

He had finally found the perfect outfit and quickly got dressed, getting a text from Olivia at the same time that she was waiting for him in her car outside. Ni-ki rushed out of his room and slipped his shoes on before he left his home.

"Ni-ki, hurry up!" Olivia shouted out from her convertible. "I'm coming, hold on!" He yelled back as he hopped on one leg to get his other shoe on. He hopped into the back seat of his girlfriends car since he was too lazy to go all the way around. Only then did he notice that Heeseung was in the car as well, sitting in the passenger seat at the front. He started to feel butterflies in his stomach as he straightened up, fixing his hair to try and 'impress' Heeseung that he was most definitely organised.

"Olivia, don't forget that we have to pick up my friend too!" Heeseung said to his sister, causing her to roll her eyes, "Yeah, I know. You've said the same thing like 6 times now." She huffed out as she drove to the next destination.

--------------------------------------------------

Ni-ki, Heeseung, Olivia and Heeseung's friend, Jeong-hoon. The 4 of them stood in front of the haunted house that their school had decided to make in one of the school buildings. Ni-ki was originally planning on partnering up with Olivia for the haunted house since two people had to enter at the same time. He was about to ask her until her friend had asked her first.

"Ni-ki, are you alright with me partnering up with my friend? I promise I'll buy you some food after this!" Olivia said to the other, holding his hands in her own. Ni-ki was a little upset but there was nothing he could do about it because, well, those two were friends. So he just nodded his head, smiling a little. He was always the quiet type and ever since he started dating Olivia, he was joint to her by the hip. He wasn't used to not being with Olivia in public, so it felt strange. He watched her walk away with her friend into the building, trying to think of someone to go in with until he felt a light tap on his shoulder.

He turned around to see who it was and froze when he saw it was none other than Heeseung. "Do you wanna be partners for the haunted house? Jeong-hoon decided to go with another friend of his. Fake ass bitch😒." Heeseung huffed, crossing his arms. "Oh, sure. I was actually thinking of asking you.." Ni-ki admitted, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck.

"Great! Come on, let's go inside now." Heeseung grinned, grabbing Ni-ki by the wrist so he could drag him inside.

The entire time, the two boys had been screaming and yelling at every jumpscare. On some occasions, the two would even cling to each other for dear life, resulting in Ni-ki having his face turn red. He didn't know why he was like this around Heeseung. He was straight, right? And besides, he had a girlfriend. It was wrong to feel like this with Heeseung.

The two had finally made it out of the haunted house, big smiles and laughter echoing throughout the place. Just then, Ni-ki had gotten a text. He checked to see who it was and saw it was Olivia, so he opened the notification, his smile fading as he read what she had written.

Ni-ki didn't know what to reply to her with, so he ended up just leaving her on seen. He wasn't sure if he should be upset that she broke up with him or relieved that he didn't have to dump her. He may not have seemed like it but he always looked on the bright side of things, so he saw this as an opportunity to be able to explore his sexuality. Maybe ending things with Olivia was a good thing.

"Ni-ki, is everything alright? You look like you saw a ghost. I mean, technically you did just a couple minutes ago." Heeseung asked with concern before laughing a little because he thought he said something funny. "Yes? No? I.. I don't know.. Olivia just broke up with me but.. for some reason I'm not even that upset.. is that bad?" Ni-ki said with confusion and hesitance filled in his voice, going over to a bench to sit down with Heeseung following.

Heeseung looked at Ni-ki with concern, instinctively wrapping an arm around the younger male to try and comfort him in a way. "In my opinion, not being upset over a break up is actually a good thing. That way, you're not so hung up over it and you don't make it your entire personality. You're a really sweet person Ni-ki, and I'm not saying that just because. I remember when you first started dating Olivia, you were all she talked about. It did get really annoying though. But when I met you, I immediately understood why Olivia liked you so much. You're still really sweet and kind, and you can be rather shy but that's what makes you so cute." Heeseung said before his eyes widened in realisation that he had pretty much confessed to Ni-ki.

Ni-ki lips quirked up into a smile, blushing lightly at Heeseung's words. "Do you.. do you really mean all of that?" The younger asked with hopeful eyes that Heeseung seemed to get lost in the longer he gazed into them.

"Of course I mean all of that.. every last word.." Heeseung answered with a soft smile. Ni-ki felt that familiar feeling of fluttering in his stomach. His feelings for Heeseung that he had tried to bury deep down had risen up, biting his lip as he smiled shyly. "What do you say to getting out of here, hm? Just the two of us. We can go back to my place to get my car and then we can just go on a late night drive." Heeseung suggested, smiling.

"That would be lovely, actually." Ni-ki nodded, standing up with the other. Heeseung grabbed Ni-ki's hand and started running off with him, hand in hand. It would be around 10:20pm by the time they would've gotten back to Heeseung's place since they had to walk back.

--------------------------------------------

Heeseung and Ni-ki had been driving around for who knows how long. Ni-ki's feet were up on the dashboard with his seat reclined a little. Him and Heeseung just talked about a bunch of random topics, sometimes getting into a heated debate on whether mint chocolate tastes bad or not (it tastes like shit, go argue with a wall).

"I'm telling you! Winter is so much better than summer!" Heeseung exclaimed, glancing over at Ni-ki for just a moment before looking back in front of him at the road as he drove. "No it's not! Summer is way better because you can go to the beach, the pool, you can have as much ice cream as you want without having your insides freeze!~" Ni-ki retorted, now sitting up right because he was really getting into this debate.

"You can do all that stuff in winter too!" "But you would get sick!" "Okay, I guess that's a fair point..~" Heeseung sighed, a comfortable silence finally washing over them. It was now currently 1 in the morning, Ni-ki hadn't even realised. He was enjoying talking to Heeseung so much that more than two hours had passed. "We should head back now, it's really late." Ni-ki yawned, stretching his arms above his head. "Shit, I didn't even realise." Heeseung said, doing a u-turn to start going back the way he came.

Ni-ki put his address in his phone to his home so Heeseung could drop him of first. 30 minutes had passed and Ni-ki was now finally home. He took his seatbelt off and turned in his seat to look at Heeseung, a smile on his face. "Thank you, Heeseung.. I really enjoyed this." Ni-ki said to the older. "I'm glad you did.. you're really fun to be around." He smiled. All of a sudden, Heeseung got a wave of courage to do something he probably would never do. He leaned in and softly pecked Ni-ki's cheek before sitting back, a cute smile on his face. "What was that for?~" Ni-ki chuckled out, his face a little red. "Nothing~ I just felt like doing it." Heeseung replied, not minding that Ni-ki had reached out to hold his hand.

"Let's do this again sometime." Ni-ki suggested.

"I'll keep that in mind."
