Jay has always loved stargazing.  He could remember when he was a kid and he would sit outside in the junkyard with the lights for the sign off and looked at the stars.  He enjoyed it, especially during the times that he was at school and got bullied.  He got bullied a lot as a kid, but has never told the others except Nya.  It helped her to understand why he liked stargazing so much.

Stargazing is something that he had started doing with his kids too.

Here he was with his eight year old twins right outside in the monastery training yard.  His son, Justin, was on his right and his daughter, Alex, was on his left.  They were sitting with him and just looking up at the sky.  They sat there for a while and the kids eventually fell asleep.  Both of them were using Jay's lap as a pillow.  He looked at his kids.  Both of them and Nya are the most important people in Jay's life.  His kids are the future elemental masters of lightning and water.  He doesn't want them to have to fight to protect Ninjago and put their lives on the line all the time like him and Nya, but he knew that he wouldn't get a choice in the matter.  It was their destiny.

"Hey," Nya said as she walked outside.  "The kids got tired?"

"Yeah," Jay said.  "I'll take them to bed in a few minutes."

"It's no rush.  They look comfortable on their father."

"I guess so."  Jay looked down at his two kids again.  "It's hard to believe that they'll eventually become the protectors of Ninjago."

"I know," Nya said as she sat down on Jay's right, next to Justin.  "I wish there was someway we could make sure that there are no villains when they're older, but there's no way to guarantee that.  All we can do is make sure they are ready."

"That's what their training is for," Jay agreed.

"They'll be ready for when the time comes for them to become the ninja team."  Jay felt Nya's head on his shoulder and saw that she was being careful to not squish their son.

"I guess we should take the kids to bed now," he said.

"In a minute," Nya told him and they both looked up at the stars.  They wouldn't have to worry about their kids becoming ninja yet.  That was a problem to deal with when the time comes.

A/N: Sorry this one is so short.  I hope you enjoyed!
