Nya loved her kids more than anything. Justin and Alex became her and Jay's world when they came into their lives. Yes, there's been some up and down since their kids were born, but they've made the best of any situation that has come their way. Currently, they were ten years old.
One thing that Nya became curious about when they were younger was what happened when they got sick. It was easy to tell that there was a special connection between the two since they were little which included them getting sick at the same time. Nya has wondered if maybe there's a special connection between elemental twins, but has found nothing to prove her theory.
"Everything alright?" Jay asked as her entered their son's bedroom. Jay had been out getting groceries with Lloyd and Cole, although she's guessing they probably made a pit stop at some point. Nya figured out that their kids were sick after Jay had left.
"The kids are both running fevers," Nya responded. She was currently sitting on her son's bed and running her fingers through his hair. It looked so much like Jay's.
"They both got sick at the same time again?"
"Yeah. There has to be some explanation as to why they always get sick at the same time. This doesn't normally happen to normal twins."
"But they're not normal twins."
Jay voiced what Nya was thinking. Their twins were not normal. They were never going to be normal. They were going to inherit elemental powers. In a couple of years, they were going to start training. Justin will be the master of lightning and Alex will be the master of water. That was a scary thought for both her and Jay as parents.
"Is Alex also asleep?" Jay asked Nya.
"Yeah," Nya said. "I've been going back and forth to take care of both of them while you were out."
"Why don't you go relax for a bit?" Jay suggested. "I'll look after them."
"Are you sure?" In reality, Nya didn't really want to leave them, but relaxing did sound nice. She was sure that Jay could handle watching over their sick kids for a little while.
"I can handle it."
"Ok." Nya walked out of her son's bedroom and went to her and Jay's bedroom. She would check on her kids and husband in a little while. For now, she was going to lay down for a little while.
Years later
They eventually found out the reason that the twins would get sick at the same time. They do have a special connection and with their connection, special power. Everyone still hated that they both always got sick at the same time though. Nya was currently in her teenage son's room right now because both he and his twin sister were sick again.
"This sight looks familiar." Nya looked up and saw Jay in the doorway. Nya didn't even realize she was running her hand through Justin's hair like she did when he was younger whenever him and Alex were sick.
"I guess it's an old habit," Nya said.
"Has his fever gone down any?"
"A little. What about Alex?" Nya knew that Jay was just in their daughter's room to check on her. She guesses that now he was there to check on them.
"Same." Jay sat down on the bed next to Nya. "This is just something that's always going to happen to them, huh?"
"Yeah. They really do have a special connection to each other."
"Why don't we go watch a movie while they rest?" Jay suggested.
"I think that were be nice." The twins were older now and would be fine being left alone while they watched a movie. Plus, the people the twins are dating would also probably check up on them, so they would be fine.
