It only takes about forty-five minutes to get to the Capitol from District Four when you're on a train that's blasting forward 400 mph. Me, Stringbean, Finnick and Mags pretty much talked strategy the whole time, but we also watched the Reapings from each District to look at our opponents.

Only a few really stick in my mind. Not suprisingly, all four tributes from Districts One and Two are volunteers. Though, the ones from Two do suprise me. A twelve-year-old blond girl with amber eyes volunteers. Her district partner is almost complete opposite, with dark skin, and huge muscles. The 18-year-old male tribute bursts into tears from District Three at the anouncement of his name, and I don't blame him. One more year and he would have been free. We see our Reaping, and I don't look all that upset when I walk up, though I see Ethan breaking down in the background when I have no volunteers. There's a talkative, small black girl by the name of Naomi from Seven, and she looks to be from the poorer section of the District. I watch as she has to be pulled away from her little sister when she's called up. Naomi doesn't look all that bothered by the Reaping, but I know that she was probably fuming inside like I was. The only other tribute I faintly remember is a little boy from Eleven with a bad leg.

We begin to talk about our now-foes when suddenly, the car jerks forward and Poppy comes running in again.

"We're here!" She gushes in her sing-song voice. "Look outside! Everyone's dying to see you two!" Stringbean rushes to the window and I go to another. There's a huge crowd of freaks Capitol people on the platform, waving and blowing kisses. The enormous Capitol stands behind them, and I have to say I was impressed. Tall corporations and monuments loom over us and we can hardly see the horizon over the many stores and buildings. We're almost at once dragged off the train and into a long building, which only consisted of one floor, but many rooms underground. We're escorted into a small section guarded off by just a curtain. All the other tributes are here, and I got a glimpse at a couple walking in. Sadly, they were all bigger than me by alot.

Two Capitol people lay me down on a cold, steel table and completely strip me down. Thankfully, they give me a blanket to cover up. The two look almost completely the same, though both freaky. I learn later that they are twins, by the names of Forsythia and Xavier. Xavier has a bright red crew cut, complete with streaks of orange, giving the illusion that his hair was burning. His skin is bright yellow, like his sister. Forsythia has the same red and orange hair, although it's longer and knotted together in some detailed Capitol hairstyle. They both also have bright gold nails and eyelashes both the length of my pinkie. They both talk non-stop, and chatter on about their lives. Throughout the whole time that they make me up to see my stylist, I learn many things about them.

For one, Forsythia has this snobby boyfriend named Darryl that had just proposed to her, and Forsythia found out that he was dating her sister-in-law after she had said yes. Xavier had been ordering a neon purple diamond from District One, but he hadn't been hearing back from the company, so he had to convince his cousin twice-removed to go give the company a piece of his mind. Xavier didn't end up with his purple diamond, and he had quit his day-job to go report to the President. So that was a couple of the interesting things that Capitol people do on a daily basis. Exciting.
