Life went on per usual for Peyton, she headed on her walking route for her morning cup of coffee. She was too lazy to make it at home, so while she walked her block she stopped at a local one. Peyton ordered a macchiato and waited off to the side for it now.

Peyton looked up across the room from her phone just to casually scan when she noticed a younger girl smiling at her. She smiled back as a natural response and the girl whispered to her friend and giggled.

When Peyton looked back up at her, she had gotten up from the table and made her way over. Peyton smirked at her, trying to be polite, she just wanted to wait for her coffee. The closer the girl got, the more Peyton realized how pretty she looked, but she was definitely too young for Peyton.

"Hey, are you the lead vocals of Ham Jam?" The girl batted her eyes and smiled.

"Uhm- yeah. That would be me, Peyton." She reached her hand out and the girl pulled Peyton in for a hug.

"Your song Perfect Pearl was flawless. I seen you when you played that club in The Bronx. Brilliant, truly." She smiled.

Peyton nearly blushed. She rubbed the back of her neck and stuttered on her words, "I mean I'm flattered." She laughed, grabbing her ready coffee off the pick up counter, "it's great to meet a fan."

"Yeah! Let me know when you're playing next time. I'm there." She slid Peyton her phone number on a napkin and said farewell before heading back over to her friend.

Peyton smiled unexpectedly at the phone number, stuffing it in her pocket and heading back out on her walk. She beamed the rest of the way to her apartment, grabbing her mail, and heading up the elevator. A lot of mail, but not one letter. Peyton laid the mail down disappointed. She pulled the napkin from her pocket, placing it on the fridge. She was going to play tomorrow night, so she would be giving her a call.

Peyton grabbed her guitar and sat on the couch, strumming it into tune, she opened her notebook, flipping past the pages of masterpiece to a new song she was still trying to figure out. The name for it was Certain Seas.

"I'll admit I was wrong. That's why it's apart of this song. Was it so horrible the nights so long, all the daydreams long gone. Why was it so terrible that I was unbearable? Certain Seas most certainly see through me." She began to sing softly out as she strummed the guitar, brainstorming words and adding guitar notes to and between the words.

She clicked the top off a beer with a bottle opener and took a swig of it. Continuing to strum away before having to go to the bar she worked at. She flipped the bar top door and walked behind, beginning to serve customers. There were about 2 regulars there that night, usually more, but the bar was practically empty with it being a Wednesday.

"How about another." The regular, Alex raised her empty glass, slurring her speech.

Peyton shook her head with a laugh, "how about some food?" She asked handing her a menu.

"How about.. another drink and some nachos?" She raised her eyes from the menu with a smile.

"Deal." Peyton smiled taking the menu back and placing the order in the kitchen. Peyton then poured her another whiskey. "How's your night?"

She laughed with a shake of her head, "never been better." She said as she took a gulp of whiskey downed it and growled as it burned on the way down.

"I can't help but think that was sarcastic." She laughed back, shaking her head.

Alex smiled softly at her, her eyes drunkenly gazing back, "yeah. Nothing better than being drunk and lonely."

Peyton froze while drying a clean cup. She placed it on the sink and poured whiskey into her glass again, pouring one for herself. "I know what that's like." She clanked Alex's cup and downed the whole double shot.
