The peaceful and joyous atmosphere that came about the palace as the servants were busy trying to keep the whole place in other. Most of them were busy cleaning and cooking in the kitchen while the others were cleaning the other part of the kingdom. In the midst of the many servants cleaning the place Diona, a green hair lady with a bit of a tanned skin  colour is seen washing the plates in the kitchen.

Diona smiled calmly at the surface showing off her dimples as she greeted most of the other maids that passed her by. The moment she notices most of the maids were out of sight she holds the glass a little bit tightly as she forces herself to keep smiling so the other workers cleaning the kitchen won't get suspicious of her. Diona saw some few maids holding some shining light clothes and ribbons walking in the hallway as they passed her by, she couldn't help but recalling it was finally that time of the year when the family selects a suitable prince or king for her step sister. She remembers how her father and step mom will be giving Aurora her step sister nothing but blessings so she could find herself a good husband.

But what did she get? Nothing but sufferings and series of insult because Diona was not a real member of the Agnes family, she was the daughter of the mistress of her father. Nothing but endless taunts, insults, beating and even scars she received because she was an illegitimate child.

Did she once ever complained? She did not. Diona suffered all the pains quietly as she believed what her mother told her. All good people deserve a happy ending. That gave her the motivation to keep going and doing her best. But it seemed like the world couldn't allow her to rest.

"Where is that good for nothing"
A loud voice said as Diona cringes at the voice. Before she could even react to hide immediately the door of the kitchen slammed open. An elegant young lady dressed in a classic and expensive night gown was seen as she stormed into the kitchen. Diona could only breathe out a sigh as she awaits her punishment.

Aurora looked around the whole kitchen until her eyes landed on Diona. She frowned more as she came to where Diona was and gave her a painful slap across her cheeks.

The kitchen was filled with gasps and shocking sound as Diona looks at her step sister with a look of shock.

Why would she come from no where and decide to hurt me for no reason? She thought as she looks at Aurora stilled shocked by her sudden action.

"You insolent fool, after the whole mercy my mother and I showed to you this is how you repay us back. Father was right, you'll never appreciate any kindness shown to you until you steal my position of being the princess in the kingdom. I'm utterly disappointed at your behaviour" she glares at Diona bitterly.

Diona looked at Aurora surprise evident on her face. She could feel her anger boiling within her as she balls her fist.

How could she dare utter those lies at my very face? She called this mercy and kindness while this is completely hell itself. She ensures that I eat once a day, makes it an order for me to wear nothing but rags. Always beats me just to feel at ease for the day and she calls this her kindness to me. How can someone be this ruthless?
Diona manages to swallow up the anger within her as she faces Aurora with her calm and gentle smile ignoring the sting she felt at her cheek.

"Miss Agnes, I simply have no knowledge of what I have done to make you to be this angry. I'm terribly sorry for whatever trouble I've caused you, please do forgive me" She said as Aurora narrows her eyes at Diona as she snickers at her.

"Your as devious as your mother. Good thing your mother is in that condition, such a shame you didn't tag along with her"

Diona could feel her mouth getting more and more bitter as she ached so badly to speak out her mind. But knowing the grave consequence her mother would receive because of her stupid act she kept quiet and swallowed up her pain.
