It has been 3 months since Halloween it is now the start of February, mum did a 9th birthday party for my sister to which Kyle and I went to.

Mum liked how Kyle had said we were together and living together now, going on about three and a half months.

Today I was sitting in the lounge room room with max when I got a call from Iain, mums partner.

"Hey Iain what's up." I said as I answered my phone. I heard sniffling and crying on the phone.

"Hey um I hate to tell you this over the phone but.. uh.. your mum died at work late last night." He started to break down by the end of his sentence, my heart stopped hearing this.

"What, no, don't mess with me." I said trying to keep a semi straight face.

"I'm not messing with you, I'm so sorry darling." Iain said, I went quiet and hung my phone up, I stood up and slowly walked numbly to Kyle's and I room.

I closed the door and locked it, as soon as I dropped my phone I screamed and started crying as I collapsed on my knees on the floor.

Soon I heard banging on the door but I ignored it while crying my eyes out, I couldn't believe this.

"Hayley! What's going on, let me in?!" I heard max yelling. I ignored him and soon heard him yelling into what I assumed was his phone.

I crawled into the darkest corner of the room and curled up bawling my eyes out.

"No no no no no this has to be a nightmare." I whispered to myself over and over again, I was an absolute wreck and I didn't want to believe this nightmare was real.

My mum was my everything, she was my best friend, my mother, my support, my shoulder to cry on. I don't know how I'll be able to cope or survive without her.

After about 20 minutes I heard the door knob jiggling.

"Sweetheart let me in." Kyle called out to me, but I didn't have the strength to move. He unlocked the door with a key and shut it behind him.

It was dark in here but I assumed he could still see as he never turned the light on, he saw me in the corner crying and sniffling and immediately he had a look of concern and worry and rushed over to me.

"What's going on? Talk to me." Kyle said, he gently scooped me up in his arms, Kyle laid on the bed with me cradled on his chest facing him.

"M-m-mum died l-l-last n-ight at w-work, Iain called t-t-telling me." I hiccup and sniff still crying.

"Oh I'm sorry Hayley, I'm here for you I promise." Kyle said, he let me cry and comforted me for the rest of the day until I passed out exhausted from crying.

After I got the call from max frantically telling me to get home and that something was wrong with Hayley and that she's locked herself in our to I immediately found my manager and said some family energy came up and I had to go.

Thankfully he understood and I went straight home, going inside I could hear crying.

"What happened max?" I asked worried.

"She got a call from someone, went into the room and I heard a heart shattering scream, she won't open the door." Max explained, I went to my bedroom door, it was locked.

"Sweetheart let me in." I said, she ignored me so I found the spare key for it.

Unlocking it I see the room is dark but I could still see, I closed the door behind me and found Hayley curled up in the darkest corner of the room crying and sniffling still.

I pick her up gently, laying down on the bed with her on my chest, she clung to me.

"What happened? Talk to me." I said softly, I was so worried and concerned for her.

"M-m-mum died l-l-last n-ight at w-work, Iain called t-t-telling me." Hayley said after a few moments of silence, my heart cracked hearing that.

I liked Cassie, she was a friend and helped me meet Hayley, she was kind and funny.

"Oh I'm sorry Hayley, I'm here for you I promise." I said, I meant it. I let her cry until no tears came out and comforted her, after a couple hours she passed out from exhaustion.

At 6:30 I slowly got up making sure not to disturb Hayley to much, I pulled the covers over her.

I walked out my room, making my way to the kitchen to start dinner. I wanted to make butter chicken for Hayley, she loved it.

After I finished making it I went to go wake Hayley up, she groaned.

"I made dinner, butter chicken." I said softly soothing her hair out.

"I'm not hungry." She mumbled.

"You should eat something." I said, she shook her head no.

"No Kyle." She said laying down and falling asleep again, I sighed.

"Alright princess, rest." I whispered kissing her forehead.

I left the room so I could go eat, sitting  down at the table with max we started on our food.

"She's not eating is she?" Max asked, as much as they didn't completely patch things up he does still care about her as a friend.

"Nope, I'll make her something later if she wants." I said.
