The Contract

Chapter 1

Kagome couldn't think, yet all she was doing was thinking. It was those times where she would have so many thoughts in her head that she just broke and became blank-faced.

In all her years of working, socialising, building up her company to its best as it was now, she had never felt this tired, conflicted, frustrated and...just dead.

After all, the offer that inuyasha had made was the only suitable way for her to get out of this mess without any harsh criticism or any problems with her company, plus it would benefit her as well. She might even be able to discuss and spread her company benefits to other countries. But she was too proud to give in. Yet.

"For the sake of your company. Be my girlfriend"

The sentence had been ringing through her head for a whole 3 days.

Kagome had made statements to the newspaper and reporters saying that it was a misunderstanding and that her and Hojo are clearly working together and nothing more. However, civilians these days have gotten crazier, and send her letters, emails, messages and even wait outside her company building to get Kagome to admit that she is dating Hojo. All because they want a boss and secretary romance. It irked kagome that she had to forcefully date Hojo just because of this, which gave her more of a reason to find a way out of this.

Kagome worked late, made plenty of statements and even got up to the point of doing research about how other bosses had handled this nonsense. Turns out that their company got affected negatively either way.

Kagome had built this company from the ground up. She had spent many nights, sweat and tears, to build the company as it was today. No way was she giving it up this easily.

So kagome had to swallow up her pride and get help from the one person that was the total opposite of her.

Kagome had a black mask covering her mouth and nose. A cap with all her hair tucked in, which was very uncomfortable. A gray shirt that was tight around the waist with two buttons, having the top button undone. High waisted black jeans and black sport shoes.

She would rather have come here in her sweatpants and blanket, but she had to at least look a bit presentable, yet hidden from reporters, in front of said person.

Kagome walked on the shiny and reflected marble floor to the stairs. She was done with him and his company already even though she's been inside the (amazing) building for barely 5 minutes.

Kagome walked up to the receptionist.

"I need to talk to Inuyasha Izayoi. Please" Kagome said.

"I'm afraid that's not possible Madame. If you'd like, you could make an appoi-" The receptionist was stopped halfway as Kagome slid down her ID in front of the receptionist's eyes. The receptionist eyed Kagome's ID for a second before identifying her as the CEO of The Sacred Jewel company.

Kagome tapped her foot as she waited for the elevator to reach the top floor. Many employees were walking in and out of the elevator, which caused Kagome more anxiety and stress as she was slowly reaching the highest floor.

~Ding~

Kagome stepped out of teh elevator before she could change her mind and turn back. She came here and she would not go back without anything. Go big or go home, Kagome, she thought.

As Kagome went through the hallway of clean, black carpet to the office all the way at the end of the halls he received many stares through the various glass office windows on each side of the hallway. She had to admit, the designing of this building was done especially well.
