Maat says as she simultaneously writes the regulations of the contract with her feather of truth on a deep brown vellum paper.
"You may dismiss yourselves that will be all, the trial at the Holy temple of Maat has been concluded".
Seth says nothing as he accepts his punishment with atonement in his heart. It's all for Anubis even if I suffer hell, I won't regret it because it's for Anubis it's the least I can do for him. Yes, this is good.
But if I could have done things differently...
THE BEGINNING OF THE FALL OF EGYPT
"Congratulations brother on your accomplishment, you're now the king of Egypt". Seth says with a smirk on his face.
"Thank you, brother I will make Egypt more prosperous than before, but I will need assistance Seth I ask of you will you accept the role as army general Seth the god of war and sand?" Osiris asks with a calm but forceful tone.
Seth thought about it, if I were to accept this position I would be recognized as my brother's right-hand man which I guess is honorable, but I will miss the quietness though. "Alright I accept!" Seth exclaims joyfully. "But don't think you can order me around like a dog." He snarked.
Osiris laughs "no of course not, you alone decide what to do with your time it's just when there is war you being general will train the soldiers and conduct strategies for war".
"Hmm- you sure that's all..." Seth says with a kind of uncertain expression.
Osiris delays but then continues his sentence "Well of course with great things come sacrifices".
"Stop stalling and spit out already". Seth exclaims this time with annoyance in his voice.
"You will need to marry Nephthys" says Osiris.
"Ne-Nephthys" Seth voice a bit higher than usual.
"B-but she's the god of peace and me war that's a terrible match".
"The fact that you guys are opposite means that there will be balance she is a very wise match for you" says Osiris. "She will be here for the celebration held at the fortress go talk to her and there I will propose to Isis". Well, you and Isis there's no surprise there, but don't blame me if anything goes wrong" Seth says sarcastically.
The Night of The Celebration
"Congratulations my king we have awaited this day I know you will make an outstanding ruler" Isis says with much respect.
"You are to kind Isis, thank you" Osiris looks at her with content in his eyes. "I see you are beautiful then ever still".
"Well, I couldn't possibly not look my best in front of his Majesty today of all days, you don't look bad yourself" Isis says with a grin on her face that is so wide it's terrifying.
"JESUS Christ, you sound like an old couple, I thought this was a party?" Seth.
"Well hello to you too, you little ferment" Isis retorted. "Who the fuck hired a clown".
"Wow I'm hurt, it's been so long since I've seen my sweet sweet big sis, big sis should I start calling you that, NO even better how about ugly old witch?"
"Don't you fucking dar-
"Ahem language and Seth, I told you this was a celebration not a party so behave yourself" Osiris joins in.
"Oh no there is definitely a party it's just not over here and no one tells me what to do not even myself, until this "Celebration" lightens up I'm out this joint" Seth says with a peace sign up while walking away.
"PERFECT, LESS HEADACHE FOR EVERYONE AM I RIGHT?" Isis yells angrily. Osiris sighs "I'm sorry Isis you know how Seth never knows how to read the room".
Seth's Pov~ Outside in the Fortress Garden
I take a walk outside to gather my thoughts. I'm supposed to find a way to get Nephthys to marry me. I'm already attracted to her but, I never really gave any thought as to why though. While walking around outside the Fortress Garden I happen to spot Nephthys fiddling with the celebration decorations. It makes me realize why I grew interest in her in the first place, it feels as if, she was too stays by side, I would be granted warmth and kindness like no other.
"It's a bit chilly out here isn't it" I say trying to start a conversation.
Nephthys looks up a bit surprised, but replies "I don't mind it really, since we are gods after all".
"Right but why aren't you at the party celebrating".
"Well, I've just been thinking a lot lately that's all, what about you why are you out here" she says.
"I got bored and didn't want to be there, but I was also looking for you".
"You were looking for me, but why?" she asks.
"Will you go out with me?"
"Go out where?" she asks with an innocent look on her face.
"No that's not what I- forget it uhm I haven't figured that out yet.
Nephthys blushes but agrees her eyes field with a tint of sadness.
I return back to the Fortress and Osiris is upset I missed his big announcement but, I don't care I need to figure out where to take Nephthys, then the night continues.
. Years Later....
"Waaaaa waaaaa"
"Seth look it's your son, our Anubis" says Nephthys.
"My son, this, this is my child"? I ask a bit teary.
"Yes, it is..." she says with a weak smile.
"Awwww look at him he's so cute, but he looks nothing like you though" Isis says entering the room.
"Well, he's still hasn't developed into his god form I'm sure he will have the same beautiful features as his father" Osiris says.
............
"Well, that doesn't matter we have a new family member to the family lets spoil him rotten!" Isis says.
This was the event that changed everything.
