Happy's love story (COMPLETED & NOT EDITED)

I didnt know that when I woke up this morning that my life was about to change. 

I was just finishing up a photo shoot and about to head to my last one when I got a call from my father which made me drop everything and call Happy telling him to get to my father's place as quick as he could.

When I arrived I shut my car off and got out before I headed up to the door just as Happy pulled up beside me.

"what's wrong?" he asked

"he called and told me that he was gonna go today and that he wanted us both here" I replied

Happy grabbed my hand as we headed inside.

when we walked in we seen someone that we've never seen before.

"Hello" I said

"hi" they replied

"can I help you?" I asked

"your father called me to give him his last rites and officiate" he says

"right ok." I replied

I wasn't sure what he was gonna officiate if he is to give my father his last rites. so Happy and I headed to my father's room.

"hello Poppa" I greeted

"my darling girl" he says

I walked over and hugged him being very careful.

"Hello Happy" poppa greeted

"hello sir" Happy says before he too gave my father a hug.

"now happy I've told you plenty of times you don't have to be formal with me. you can call me Lachlann " poppa says

Happy nods his head before taking my hand again.

"I want you too to make a promise to me. a huge last promise the three of us will ever make" poppa says

I tired up knowing when I leave this house I will not being seeing my father alive ever again.

"of course poppa" I tell him

"of course" Happy says

"you've both been friends with each other since you was itty bitty rugrats" poppa says

Happy and I looked at each other smiling.

"we have" I agreed looking back at my father.

"I want you two to promise me that you will marry each other and I will be able to watch," he says

it dawned on me what the priest meant when he said officiate.

I looked back at Happy.

"please. I want to watch my only child marry someone who I trust with her heart and who I know without a shadow of a doubt will protect her" poppa says

"we promise" Happy says

I cried as I looked back at my father.

"Kenina get in this drawer and grab the small box. inside is your mother and I's wedding band" poppa says

I nodded my head before doing as I was told.

"Happy please have the priest come in" poppa says

I looked at the rings and noticed they were Celtic design and very beautiful.

"are you ready?" the priest asked

"for you to marry them yes. then I will be ready for my rites" poppa replied

I walked back over to Happy as we stood close to my father. I handed him the ring that was my mother's while I held the one that was my father's.

We looked at each other as the priest married us.  I gave a small smile as I slipped the ring on his finger and he did the same thing.

"you are now husband and wife," the priest says

Happy and I kissed before pulling back.

I looked at my father and saw him smiling before he closed his eyes.

"thank you. I love you both. my darling girl you have made me very happy and I couldn't have asked for a better daughter." poppa says

"you raised me to be how I am. it was with your love that I am the woman I am today" I tell him

"your mother would be very proud." he says

I leaned down and kissed him softly before I hugged him.

"Happy please take care of her for me. you're all she has left" poppa says

"I will I promise" Happy says

"I can now join my beautiful wife. who I have missed greatly," he says

I sobbed as I held my father in my arms while the priest read the last rites.

Happy stood there by my side as I sobbed as my father took his last breath.

" I am so sorry for your loss," the priest says before he takes his leave.

I wrapped my father up in my arms and kissed his head as I rocked side to side.
