I sat in the lecture hall, waiting for my class to finally come to a close which seemingly took forever.
Madison was sat in the seat to my right, her nose deep into some romance novel she had open on her laptop; some book I had come to the conclusion had the title of "Tired Tired Sea". I had never heard of it, but she seemed to be really intrigued by its contents.
My life seemed more like a romance novel in this moment compared to the past, so I don't see myself reading any romantic pieces of writing anytime soon. I have my own right in front of me.
"Now the paper is due in a week. I expect every single one of you to use what we've learned while dissecting this novel, and please remember Sense and Sensibility is a wonderful piece of literature, do not take the easy route and watch the film instead. I'll know."
Every one rushed towards the door of the large room, leaving to carry on with their days. I stayed seated waiting for Madi, who was so busy with her book that she didn't realize the lecture was over and we had a paper due in a week.
"Thank god it's over, she talks forever."
I was shocked when Madi spoke, fully expecting her to question everything we had just learned, but she seemed well aware of her surroundings.
"Wait you were listening? I was ready to give you the quick version of the lecture."
I laughed as Madison stood up, casually tossing her belongings into her tote as I did the same.
"I was listening, but I wasn't enjoying. That's why I spent so much time reading. Multitasking is an art, bestie."
We walked together out of the building and off across campus in the direction of my flat, as we had planned to do work together to keep each other on track and motivated for as long a possible.
"Are you coming out tonight? There's a house party just round the block, some kid named Zayn. I've heard his parties are something else."
This was the first I've heard of the gathering, but it piqued my interest. Also who names their child Zayn? I've yet to hear that one.
"Yeah, I guess I'll make an appearance. Not saying it'll last, but I'll check it out for sure."
We finally made it to my place after a few more minutes of nonsensical chatter, opening the already unlocked front door. We were welcomed with Harry sitting on the couch, laptop across his legs as he typed away, presumably working on a paper for one of his classes.
"Hello to you too, Mr. football captain."
Madi laughed as she set her belongings down near the door before making her way down the hall in the direction of my bathroom.
As soon as we'd lost sight of her, Harry motioned for me to move closer. I leaned over the back of the couch, my face directly in front of his but upside down.
"Missed you, love."
We shared a kiss before I pulled away and moved around the piece of furniture sitting beside him as I leaned into his side.
"How was class?"
His laptop was now closed as he wrapped his arms around me, pulling my body into his.
"Boring, not much to it really. Just going over the paper we have due next week."
Harry was about to reply, then Madi emerged from the bathroom.
"Coming to Zayn's tonight, H?"
She plopped herself down into the love seat with her bag beside her as she reached for her computer.
