"So... you're an ancient queen reincarnated with some creepy fire magic?" Isabela asked as I ate my steak and I nodded, swallowing my food before I spoke.
"Yeah, and I guess Varric is the king or whatever-"
"Guess?!" Varric asked, looking at me as I smirked.
"King? Him?" Fenris asked, eyeing Varric.
"Yeah, surprised me too!" I said and reached forward, gripping my cup to drink my ale.
"Darling, I love you, but we need better beer!" I winced and Varric rolled his eyes.
"And you have the money for that-"
"Did you not forget who I was before I married you? Or the real reason I married you?" I laughed and he gave me a playful glare, but his friends looked freaked out.
"I'm sorry, but you two are really married?!" Aveline asked and I raised my diamond bound hand.
"Unfortunately-"
"Hey!" Varric complained, making me grin wide.
"You shut the hell up and eat your damn steak!" He said and sighed.
"Why are you guys even here again?" He asked and Anders sighed.
"Fenris told us that he spotted you earlier with a, and I quote, 'pretty looking mean redhead'. We wanted to see if it was true."
"Pretty?" Varric asked, but I glared at Fenris.
"Mean?" I asked and Fenris rolled his eyes.
"You glared when you looked back at me-"
"I was under the initial impression you intended to kill Varric-"
"It's still under consideration." He said, making me growl, but Varric gripped my arm and I looked at him as he glared at Fenris.
"Broody, the only thing keeping her from burning you to a crisp is my hand on her. Keep this in mind." He said and looked at me.
"Adaline, I'm gonna let you go, and you're not killing Hawke's elf." He said and I looked at him.
"Hawke's elf?" He nodded then I sighed, sitting back in my chair as Varric let me go.
"What are you two going to do now that you're back in Kirkwall?" Merrill asked, making me look at her.
"I want to offer help rebuilding Kirkwall, if I can." I said as Varric refilled my cup and his with ale.
"Building?"
"She was Adaline Trevelia before she became Tethras." Varric explained, staring into his cup before he drank.
"The Orlesian Trevelia Family that were the Royal Constructors?!" Anders asked and I nodded.
"My rapist, abusing bastard of a father!" I snarled and their eyes widened as Isabela growled.
"I'll kill-"
"Sorry, Corypheus beat you to that task!" I said and gripped my cup, draining it.
"Firefly, slow down!" Varric laughed as I slammed the cup down.
"Wish I could, darling, but I am too sober and awake right now! I will see you in the morning!" I said and stood, leaning down to kiss his head.
"Night, Firefly." He said as I left the dining room, making my way upstairs and to the bath.
Varric's POV
"How in the hell did you manage that?" Isabela asked as she watched Adaline leave."Honestly? An Orlesian property manager, a lie, and a Qunari." I said and she looked at me confused.
"Long story. Maybe one day I will actually write it." I smirked and shook my head.
"New Queen of Fire and King of Courage- nah!" I shook my head then chuckled.
"Maybe I could title it 'Fire and Bow'." I said and smiled.
"I actually like that." I whispered and had to remember that.
"Wow, you are so love struck!" Daisy said, but I rolled my eyes.
"Typical rooms are yours, I'm off." I said and set my cup down, standing and going upstairs. As I got to our room, I slowed when I heard her in the bath then sighed. As I walked in, I frowned when I saw the hot water and her inside the metal tub.
"That water wasn't hot, baby." I said, but she smirked.
"I know." She said then sunk down to her chin, closing her eyes as I slowly went over.
"You used your magic, didn't you?" I already knew the answer, I don't know why I bothered asking her.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked and she looked at me then sat up, reaching over to pull the top ties of my shirt loose.
"Get your clothes off before I burn them off of you!" She grinned, my eyes rolling as I got my shirt off. As I got my trousers off, I watched her move to make room for me then I got in, the water nearly too hot for me. Nearly.
"Damn, you must like to boil alive!" I hissed, sinking down, then I grabbed her ankles and sighed, relaxing back into the side of the tub.
"No, women just have a higher heat tolerance." She said and smiled as I gently massaged her calves.
"How's the arm?" I asked and she looked at the cut then sighed.
"Burned out any poison that may have gotten in me, but it's sore. Fine, just sore." She said and I nodded.
"Who was he?" She asked, but I shook my head.
"My bet? Someone after Giantess, your grandmother, or me." I said and she sighed.
"That's a long list." I nodded then looked at her worried face.
"Hey, I'll send something to Nightingale, ask her to look into it." She looked at me then smiled softly, nodding as I slid my hands up to her knees.
"Keep that up, Varric, we may get that 'bath sex' off your wish list." She said and I grinned, shaking my head.
"Not with those guys downstairs-"
"Uh, because they're downstairs! Please, I need to stake my claim on you!" She laughed, my head shaking even as I moved my hands up her thighs, crawling closer to her and softly kissing her.
"You are incorrigible."
"Oh, big words now, Mister Author Sir?" She grinned, hugging my neck as I softly kissed her over and over again.
"I have a few words for you. Starting in I, and Want, and To-"
"Then fuck me already and prove you're not lying to them!" She breathed, kissing me and spreading her legs, making room for me. This woman, she'll be the death of me! What a death it'll be!
