Lavender
I grabbed his outstretched hand and began to run with him. My feet carried me faster than I've ever moved before. We ran into the silent woods, and up into the mountains. I looked at my surroundings passing by, trees, animals, dirt and rocks. I stopped suddenly, my eyes fixating on a bear on the east side of the forest. I could smell it, his scent was sweet, like grass, and autumn, a little musky and dirty, but overall sweet. I could hear his heart beating under his fur coat. I looked over at Eli, and who is watching me observe the animal.
"You want him? Lav, I know you're excited and all, but that's a bear. No one gets a bear on their first trip." I looked at him. The drive to eat is consuming me. I was being naive when I asked him what we would eat, I knew it was coming that it would be blood. I felt my throat tighten as I focused on the bear, watching his movements. I crept closer to him, placing myself on a cliff just above him.
"I want him Eli. I'm going to get him." He stood there, leaning against a tree, with a smirk on his face.
"You can go for it Lav, but you won't get him, and that's okay. After you have your fun trying, we will get something a little bit more," he paused, placing his finger on his chin, "your size." I glared at him, before turning my attention back to the beast below me. Creeping up slowly, I found my thirst growing stronger and stronger.
"That's. My. Bear." I whispered sharply, before pouncing onto the animal. I wrapped my arms around his massive neck, and sunk my teeth into him, ripping away the fur, muscle and flesh and spitting it onto the ground. My eyes met with Eli's, you could see the visible shock on his face. I turned myself back towards my meal, allowing myself to drink from the wound I had created in its neck.
The blood was sweet, and warm. It soothed the ache in my throat, and the burning went away. The bear went limp in my arms, and fell to the forest floor. I straddled my legs around his body as I fed off of him. I took my time, this was something I had never imagined myself doing, but I felt powerful, I felt strong. I sat up and wiped my mouth onto my arm, and turned to the small clap coming from the cliff above me.
"Wow, that was impressive. You are definitely something special Lavender." He hopped down from the cliff above, walking over to me, extending his hand and offering a handkerchief. "Wipe your mouth, you have a little...blood." He winked.
I took the handkerchief from him and wiped my mouth off. I just drank blood from a fucking bear.
"I just drank blood from a fucking bear." I whispered, in disbelief. "I just drank blood from a fucking BEAR!" I shot my arm into the air and hollered.
"You drank blood from a fucking bear Lav, you really did." He smiled. I ran over to him and gave him a hug. He looked down and me, slightly confused. I pulled myself away from him readjusting my shirt.
"Sorry about that Eli. Um. Should we get back, or do you need to eat
too?" He fixed his shirt as well, and ran his fingers through his hair."Uh no, all good here Lav. Let's get you back to the Manor. I'm sure everyone will want to know about this bear. That was insanely impressive." He smiled, grabbing my hand. "Do you want to race?" I smiled, letting go of his.
"You're on!" I called as I started running!
"Hey! That's not fair! I didn't say go!" He called, running behind me.
"See you at the Manor Eli!" I pushed myself as fast as my legs could take me. I never could have imagined speed like this. This was incredible. I could smell all the scents around me, everything was brighter, more vibrant. I felt full, and complete.
I ended up beating him to the manor, only by a second. He came up behind me and put his arm around my shoulders. I rested my head on him as we walked through the garden back to the manor.
