The morning after all of the excitement was only awkward because there wasn't enough food at the apartment for breakfast.
"We can go to Denny's." Bucky offered after closing the fridge. He forgot that they hadn't properly gone grocery shopping and had only gotten the bare minimum for two hundred cookies.
"You go to Denny's?" Peter piped up from where he was still curled up on the loveseat under his pile of blankets. "That's a thing you actually do?"
"They have some sweet deals going on right now." The soldier explained before picking up his wallet and opening it. An honest to God chip fell out. "I get paid tomorrow."
Wade shrugged. "We could probably get a discount if we tell them that Pete's Stark's lil intern."
"We don't have to do that." Adel said, appearing behind the mercenary just to see him jump. "I have a deal with the manager. We can eat for free today."
Deadpool turned around on the sofa bed to look at the college student standing behind it. "What kind of deal?"
Adel peered at him for a moment, his whiskey-brown eyes unreadable, before he spoke. "You'll find out."
"Ominous."
Matt walked out of Adel's room tiredly as he slowly navigated his way over to them. He tilted his head when said Latino scooped something up off the floor in front of him and smiled shyly. "Thanks. What's this I hear about Denny's?"
"We're getting Denny's for breakfast." Adel explained as he expertly folded the blanket, draping it over the couch cushion next to Wade. "After we eat, we'll come back here and figure out how to get all of you bozos home."
Peter grinned widely and hopped off the loveseat, folding his own blanket. "You're so nice, A- WOAH!" The teen shrieked as his arm was suddenly grabbed and he was thrown at Deadpool, who dove to the side of the couch instead of catching him like a decent friend.
"Sorry." Adel grimaced, not appearing apologetic at all. "You startled me."
Matt, who was standing next to Bucky, blinked as he tried to work out what just happened. He thought his senses may have been playing tricks on him because there wasn't a sane enough explanation as to why Adel launched a teenage boy across the living room just because said teen called him nice. "Why the fuck-"
"Look, let's not delve into this." Adel said breezily as he grabbed his keys off the suspiciously stained coffee table that matched the equally suspicious television stand. "Insect, stay with Bucky. Matt, you're with me. Wade..." He gave the mercenary a dead stare for about a minute before he opened the front door, gesturing for everyone to leave.
Wade scrambled after them when the group started filing out, and he stuck near Peter and Bucky only because walking next to Matt would put him within stabbing range of Adel. Peter, as it turned out, had no qualms with talking the Winter Soldier's ear off. Said man looked as though he was arguing with the assassin in his head on who was going to take one for the team and listen to the child.
Adel, despite how much he wanted to say otherwise, was being very nice and pointing out any decorations shops had, narrating them for Matt. Sometimes, though, he'd describe something incredibly fallacious and bask in the chaos he caused as Daredevil struggled to confirm whether or not it was real. Adel's heartbeat remained steady as he lied his ass off, and Matt looked as though he had finally lost what little faith in humanity he had left.
"We're here." Said Bucky with a lackluster wave of his hand. The Denny's sign shone proudly at the jackass time of seven thirty in the morning and the woman inside greeted them warmly as she led the group to a table. "We're going to need a big one." The soldier said apologetically. "We eat a lot."
