Bucky stared down at his new phone as he walked to Adel's college so he could have lunch with him and the man's classmates. It wasn't the newest phone out on the market but it was still fairly nice and he kind of wondered who was paying for the phone plan. It was very kind of them to think of him and to support them in the way that they were. Adel was already so patient and helpful, even if the man made it seem like it was more for his own benefit than Bucky's. It was amazing that his family was so caring as well.
When he finally reached the college, Adel was already standing outside with his classmates, hands stuffed in his pockets and round sunglasses on his face. He was talking with Steph, PT, and Leo, all of them looking tired and hungry as they talked about the classes they had just finished and the projects they had due later in the week. When he spotted Bucky, a grin made its way onto his face and he took one of his hands out of his pockets to wave.
"Yo, Bucky!" Leo grinned, walking up to the man. "Heard you got a new phone!" He took out his own with a bright pink phone case with the words "pink for the twink" on it. "Want my number?"
"Sure," He handed his own over, silently put out that he didn't have a nice phone case like his. He only had a standard black one with a random cat sticker Adel stuck on the back when they got the phone. "You'll be my second contact."
Adel stepped forward, holding up his red phone that had the smirking devil emoji on it. "I'm the first 'cause I'm the best." Still, he stepped back and let his classmates surround Bucky to exchange numbers, a small but satisfied grin on his face.
"Where we eating?" Steph asked, swinging her bag. "I'm starving."
"CC's working today so I'm legally obligated to stop by," Adel informed them all, throwing his bag at Bucky, who shouldered it without complaint. "Plus, Bucky hasn't had their muffins yet."
"That has to be, like, against the law, right?" PT wondered, eyes going wide. "Their muffins are the best, I like the blueberry ones."
Adel snorted. "Hell if I know. We're studying medical shit, not fucking laws. You need stitches, I'm your man. You get sued, go fuck yourself, you're on your own."
"Always so kind." Bucky smirked, walking next to his roommate.
The brown-haired man gave a grin. "You know it, though Mama knows a good lawyer, so I guess we're good on that front, too."
PT solemnly nodded. "Your grandma is a goddess, man. She makes the best coffee."
Steph pouted, clutching the strap of her bag. She was a bit jealous that Bucky took Adel's bag to hold but it seemed like a habit at that point with them. "I haven't had her coffee yet."
Bucky blinked at them in silent surprise. With how much Adel claimed to not have friends or anything of the sort, one would think that he wouldn't invite the group to meet his family. "Guess I'll have to try some later."
"You can," Adel said, swinging his arms by his side for a moment before stuffing them back in his pockets. "I've been meaning to visit her for a while. I just never had the time."
"Well, I can drive you."
The Latino stopped, causing his classmates to have to dart to the side to avoid running into him. "Bucky, you don't have a car."
Now it was Bucky's turn to stop, surprise filtering onto his face. Steph, PT, and Leo were pretending not to be listening as they focused on their phones but they weren't subtle. "I didn't tell you? I got a motorcycle."
"I have many questions." Adel squinted at him. "None of which I can ask in public. You're buying my brownie."
"You don't even eat the brownies when I buy it," Bucky pointed out but agreed nonetheless.
