this is my own interpretation of the piece
mine is slightly different but that necessarily mean that yours is wrong

anyways here's the piece again

it's about different cultures, about not being white enough, and not living up to the expectations of a regular white american

it's about different cultures, about not being white enough, and not living up to the expectations of a regular white american

the text translates, "where there is good, there is light."
and that, of course, can be interpreted in different ways too, but in this context, it's taken as "where there is good, there is light."

the word light is interpreted as being light, skin color wise. so in simpler ways, it can also be worded out as "where there is good, there is white"

that's why there are only white outlines on the parts where the skin is lighter colored, and that's why a lighter color of skin is being painted on the hand. and the hand on the hair is changing the common brown to a blonde color, as people believe that others with blonde hair and a lighter complexion are superior

and the hand is pulling down the little thing with the flags, trying to shed the culture away, replacing with the all american culture

TLDR — it's about being pressured to be white in an all american community
