" I need that midnight special out please my tables been waiting "
It's now 2:30 in the morning and I'm working an all nighter at my diner job. And of course it's across the street from all of New Yorks finest clubs and venues so you know how that goes.
"Midnight special ready"
I quickly went to grab all the food I needed for my table and brung it to them
" If there is anything else I can get you let me know and I'll be back in a few to check on you guys" smiling I turned to walk away as I felt one of the guys slap my ass
Picking up the milk shake I just placed at the table I poured it over his head
"Don't you ever put your fucking dirty drunken ass hands on me again" I threw the cup at him and rushed to the back of the diner
Opening my locker grabbing my phone and sat on the bench.
I'm so tired of working at this job but it's the only thing keeping barely a roof over our heads.
Ive been working here since before I got pregnat with my son so about three years. Its been hard being a young single mom pregnat at 17 thrown out the group home at 18. All I have is my son and thats all I need.
Snapping outta my thoughts I heard my co worker come to the back
"Zoe you good I seen what that dick head did" sherry spoke
"yes im fine just needed a few to regroup myself thanks for checking"
Making my way back out to the front I cleaned and gathered my tips from my tables. Hours later I was done my shift making my way to my sitter to get my son. I met this lady a while back that runs her own daycare well she ran across me at a shelter once. She gave me her information and ever since she been watching Kairo while I worked and I couldnt express how grateful I am for her. She takes him from 10:30 pm - 7:30 am gets him ready for school and all.
"Ms. Stephanie im here " i yelled walking in
"Be quiet child the babies sleep" she fussed coming out the kitchen with Kairo behind her
"Im sorry... hey baby was you good for Ms.Steph " i smiled hugging my baby
"yes mommy"
"now child you know that boy is always good " Ms. Stephanie said waving me off
Its true my son is 3 but he has the best manners and is very polite
"Well thank you Ms.Stephanie i really appreciate you " i pleaded giving her a hug
" I know Zoe you tell me every time you pick up Kairo i love that i can help now go get that baby to school Ill see you later"
walking us to the door Kairo waved Ms. Steph bye and we started our walk to his school
Soon as we arrived Kai ran off towards his teacher not forgetting to blow me his everday kiss and got in line.
Finally making it home i stripped from my work clothes and jumped in the shower. 30 minutes later i got out moisturized my body washed my face and threw on some comfy clothes. I took my normal instagram pictures as I always do when I get out the shower in hopes that if i post them ill catch a model agencys eye but no luck yet.
Climbing in my bed i set my alarm and went to sleep a bitch was tired.
3:00pm
I crawled out of my bed heading to my bathroom to freshen up i brushed my teeth and washed my face and made my way out the door to get Kairo. As i was walking down the street a lady with a breaf case stopped me
"excuse me miss im sorry to disturb you but im a casting director I cast a lot of people for tv shows and musc videos. I couldnt help but notice how pretty you are and your beautiful skin" she complimented
" Aww thank you so much"
" Im in New York actually casting for a music video I would love for you to come audition. Heres my card give me a call or a text and ill send you more info" she smiled
" Thank you so much I will be in contact soon"
I countinued my walk to Kai's school stuck in my thoughts about what just happened Ive been waiting for something like this to happen for so long and maybe this may be my moment . Shaking away the thoughts i started to get to carried away.

I picked him up and walked down the street to MS.Stephanie house
" Theres my favorite boy " she grabbed Kai from me
" So how are you doing Zoe"
" I mean i guess im good same things different day although something shocking happened today"
"whats that"
" When I was walking to pick up Kai from school a lady stopped me on the street and told me how beautiful i was an that she was a casting director and she wanted me to audtion for a music video and she gave me her card I didnt use it tho cause ive never heard of her and I dont have time to put myself in a weird postion im all Kai has"
" Let me see the card"
I pulled it out and gave it to her
"Zoemi this is Justine Grey"
"Who is that " i asked confused
"Child how am I 25 years older than you and you dont know who she is shes casted people for Chris Browns Videos Beyonce she even casted people for a lot of reality shows "
" So shes legit ..... you think i should text her"
"Yes child this could be a big deal for you and dont worry i got kai just let me know "
I smiled pulling my android out to text her. I kissed my sleeping son and made my way to work.
