The next day we would spend separated for the first time in about 2 weeks. He was going on a trail walk with Michael who had finally flew over and I was going to see my mother as she had freed her morning just for me. She had meeting to attend this morning but saved an hour for her only daughter. Angèlica always called out my mother for her lack of time but I knew she tried her hardest and that was enough for me as I was very independent anyway. Arriving in London's business district men in suits filled the streets. My mother taught me how appearance and the way one carries its self is more than 75% in this business and knowing this I dressed myself with a baby pink suit with navy blue heels and Birkin to match. Loreal headquarters were similar to all other buildings in the exterior but the main entrance was quite the show as my mother decorates it according to the season. I stepped full of confidence into the building and went across the hall to the counters.

- What can I help you with today? - said the young women behind the counter without even sparing me a glance.

- I'm here to see Ms. Arnoult - she rose her eyes to look at my from head to bottom seeming completely uninterested at what my presence had to offer.

- She is unavailable right now. You need to would have to call her secretary to book an appointment I believe - she looking back down at her computer.

- She is not unavailable. I would like my pass - I took my wallet out of my bag, slamming my ID into the countertop. She looked back at me with an annoyed expression on her face.

- The person you have requested is our CEO. Unless you have proper credentials I'm afraid you will have to be escorted out of the property madame - she typed on the telephone the code I recognised to be the guards. I knew I had less than a minute before being kicked out.

- I believe you don't know who you are talking to. If I were you I would reconsider my manners when talking to strangers- She dared to sustain my gaze but broke it to finally look at my identification. 3 buffed guards were already by my side to escort me outside while the other secretary stopped their doing paying attention to the incident. I could see her visibly gulp as she rushed to make a call in the intercom. 'There is a lady here, requesting to see you Ms. Arnoult'. Silence. 'Atlas Arnoult', silence once more. 'Aha. Yes, Miss. I will send her right away'. She took a black full access pass form the wall, scanned to validate it and placed in the counter.

- Nothing else? - I said arching a brow as she had the audacity not to apologise and redeem herself. I took my pass and my identification.

- I was just doing as told. Everything could have been avoided if you miss told me who you were.

- It's your job to ask. Also I gave you my ID. Treating people and potential customers badly is not a thing we teach. If one doesn't know basic manners, she or he doesn't belong here - I turned around not wanting to listen to her and made my way to the elevator. I pressed to top floor nad entered the code only a handful of people new. I entered my mother grand office and saw she was in the terrace reading some press therefore I made my way over there.

- Maman, how have you been? - I said from behind her making her turn around. Her full head of white hair flew graciously in the wind and her face came into my view. Her features seemed the same as always, a high bridged nose, thin lips and warm chocolate eyes that kept her appearance youthful despite being over 50.

- Alexandra my love - she stood up to kiss both of my cheeks - I've been great, the stock market has been great to me this morning and your presence has just made my day even better - I left a laugh out as my mother hasn't changed a bit since I've known her.

- It's great to see that you keep dominating the business effortlessly Maman - I made a pause and she looked deep into my eyes.

- Spit it out already ma fille. You were on a break outside of the UK for good and all of a sudden you came to see me. Do not get me wrong I love you but I know you came here for show reason.

- I hate how you are never wrong ughhh - I laughed - I got a new job opportunity I thought I should get your insight on it.

- I'll have my lawers revise it if that's what you want...

- No, no. I already went through the contact myself. Great working conditions, decent salary and I would travel a lot what I love but...

- But what Alex?

- It's as an sports emergency and generalist nurse - my mother raised a brow because she didn't knew where the conversation was going - for an F1 team.

- Atlas Alexandra, which team are we talking about? - the tone of her voice sounded like a warning.

- McLaren. Don't worry father knows nothing and I don't plan on telling him - she took her eyes off of mine and sighed profoundly.

- Ma fille you are playing with fire right there. Once the press gets a hold of this your identity could be compromised. But I got a feeling that you aren't here asking for advise you already made your decision even if you haven't realised it.

- Yeah, kind of. It's just... I'm sort of involved with a team member and I'm worried he will interfere when shit goes wild.

- No s word in my presence, remember - she said as pointing towards me with an accusing finger - and you should already know love is messy particularly if Arnoult is your surname - we both chuckled - if my divorce told me something is that even if you are in trouble you can still come on top if you fight.

Thankfully for me turns out I'm a fighter.
