First day of senior year. yayyyy. Can you sense the excitement?

So a little background my nonna traveled here from Italy with her parents in 1955. My nonno was in the army and so was my papà and now that my siblings, Sabrina and Marco are grown they joined too. My sister graduated basic training and got stationed a few months later she found out she was pregnant but she was already three months so she told us and decided to keep it and give my parents temporary custody. My dad is a traveling body guard for a huge company and my mom is a lawyer so they are never here so I was already pretty much raising my brothers and now my niece. My nonna moved in so she is in charge of my little brothers in the mornings and baby nia has pretty much become mine.

I'm not complaining this little girl is my whole world but it's stressful. I'm the captain of my schools dance team and I work at my cousin's dance studio plus taking her literally everywhere with me. She is only three months old and my school has a daycare for teen moms. My aunt is the principal so I worked it out with her and that is where nia will be going.

I finished my hair and got nia ready grabbing all my stuff and my keys running downstairs.

"Ciao nonna."

"Ciao caro."

As I pulled in my best friend Sophie ran over and got in the passenger seat.

"Mila, Look at briar."

I turned around and looked at the girl I've liked sense 7th grade leaning against her audi rs7 talking to her two best friends.

"Brooo everyone is gonna think I'm a mom."

"No one is even gonna look at you."

"I'm not trying to sound stuck up but I'm the captain of the dance team half the school has tried sleeping with me their gonna look and they all think I'm a lesbian, cause I am but like..."

"Here's your schedule, take a deep breath babe. I got your back come on."

As soon as I turned off the car and got out to get her she started scream crying.

"Wonderful!"

I handed her diaper bag to soph and got her out rubbing her back. She stopped crying and we walked over to the daycare as everyone looked at us.

I got her situated and made my way to first period.

The first day was boring, just the teachers telling us what we were gonna do during the year and then sitting on our phones for an hour before our next class. I have almost the same schedule as briar and half my classes with soph.

Me and soph walked around the school putting up the flyer's for dance tryouts next Monday and then I picked up nia and went home to get ready for work.

I walked in putting nia on the floor in her carrier.

"Hey mimi."

"Hey Celina. What are we doing today?"

"Umm the 7's just left and in about 45 minutes the pre teens come in."

"Is that my class."

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay you watch her I'm gonna go get lunch and then set up, do you want anything?"

"Where are you going?"

"McDonald's I'm broke."

"Fries and a mcflurry or Dr pepper."

"Alright, she should stay asleep but if not she has half a bottle somewhere in the carrier with her."

It's the second day and we already have a project.

"So I picked partners for you and for the project you will have all year to take 100 few seconds long clips and put them all together."

Everyone complained because they want to pick their partners but she started calling out names.

"Sophie lendon with Brianne folks."

We looked at each other sadly.

"Mila larussa with Briar Cromwell."

We looked at each other again but she was smiling and I looked concerned.

"Move to sit with your partners and exchange info so you can plan when to meet for the project and get to know your partners cause you will be with them all throughout the year."

I got my stuff and moved to briar's table cause she was already sitting alone.

She handed me her phone so I put in my number and texted myself so I could save her number.

"I have practice Monday Wednesday and Friday and tryouts on Monday so when are you free?"

"Is you practice in the gym?"

"Yeah?"

I grabbed my bag and walked out the class going to the front office.

"Hello how can I help you." The receptionist asked

I just kept walking and opened my aunts office door.

(the girls basketball team and the dance team is double booked for practice all year)

"I know I had to, the gym is big and the bleachers are folded so you will have even more room."

"We all have to spread out and I have to play music, it's gonna be really loud and we're both gonna be yelling to our teams it's gonna be a mess."

"Boys practice Thursday and Tuesday and the volleyball team has to be outside so your gonna have to figure it out with Briar."

"Okay."

I went back to class sitting back down next to briar.

"What was that about?" She asked with and amused smirk.

"You have to share the gym with the dance team all year "

"What? I mean I'm not complaining but there's not enough room."

"That's what I said but boys have Thursday and Tuesday and volleyball is outside so there isn't really anywhere else we can go. We also have to do tryouts at the same time."

"Okay when can we meet up to talk about the project and figure out the practice situation."

"Umm I'm off all weekend so I'll send you my address just come over whenever."

"Alright."

The bell rang so we all got up grabbing our stuff and made our way out of the school.
