Anisha's POV
**Three Days Later**
I heard Camry's shower come on then I heard her cries. This has been the same routine for the past three days. I just lay in my bed every morning and listen to her. Deandre is my cousin too, but Camry and him were closer. They were like the family version of Bonnie and Clyde. They did damage together. And for each other, they would go to war. This is going to be a long journey for Camry.
My phone started vibrating but I couldn't find it. When I finally found it, I had a miss call from an unknown number. I called the number back. "Sup NiNi, this Jaylin.", Jay answered. "Oh hey.", I said trying to figure out how he got my number. "Deona gave me yo number. I called Tink, but she ain't answer. I was finna bring the girls home since the funeral tomorrow.", he spoke. "Hold up." I said putting the phone down.
I walked to Camry's bathroom door and knocked. "Come in.", she cried out. I couldn't look at her because she made me want to cry. "Jay wanna know if you want the girls to stay with him or go to the funeral.", I said. "Tell him to keep them.", was all she said. I ran back to my phone and told him. "Is she doing alright?, Jaylin asked. "Naw.", I said shaking my head like he could see me. "Damn man. Well aight then. Give her a hug and a kiss from me and the girls. Keep ya head up too, NiNi.", Jaylin said hanging up.
Right then, Camry peeked in my door. "Wassup Tink?", I asked. "Nothing, everything is falling down. My world is shattering slowly but surely.", she spoke sitting on the edge of my bed. I hugged her and kissed her and told her it was from Jay and the girls. She smiled a little through the tears. The first smile since Deandre's last breath.
We got up and went downstairs. It was 8am and Camry was getting out the breakfast food. She was moving like she was being forced. "Tink, I'll cook.", I said taking the eggs out her hand. "I'm not really hungry. I was just gonna cook for you.", she said sitting at the table peeling an orange. "Camry, you have to eat more than fruit. I'm cooking and you're eating anyway and that's final.", I demanded.
We ate our breakfast and Camry went in the living room. I walked up the stairs to my room to get me some clothes out. I decided to match Camry and wear some jogging pants, a big shirt and some KD's. I stood in the shower and let the water caress my body. After I washed myself, I stepped out the shower and got dressed.
"I'm ready.", I said mimicking Spongebob. I walked into the living room and Camry was smoking a blunt. A Kush blunt. Deandre's favorite kind. I sat down next to her "Nisha? Remember that time, me and Dre beat up Alonzo and his sister and they pulled out them guns?", Camry asked. "Yea and you told us that Deandre shitted his pants?", I remembered, laughing. Camry gave me a side smile. She handed me the blunt and I puffed it. I passed it back and she put it out. We stood up to grab her car keys. It was already 11 and we had to go to the funeral home to make sure Deandre was presentable. I tried talking Camry out of going but she insisted.
When we made it there, Aunt Keisha was there talking to the funeral director. "Well do you have anyone that will sing?", the man asked. "No. But my niece wants to recite a poem.", Aunt Keisha said referring to Jamia. As we walked closer to Aunt Keisha, Camry body tensed up. "Can we see his body?", I asked. "Ma'am, and you are?", the man asked. I was getting very agitated. I looked at Camry and Aunt Keisha and calmed down. "We're his cousins.", I replied. "Oh I'm sorry. Right this way.", he apologized. Aunt Keisha followed us as well.
We walked in the double doors and the building was set up so beautiful. We wasn't having a church funeral because we weren't really a church family. But a lot of that will be changing soon. "Deandre! Andre! Dre! Dee! Come back! I can't take this anymore!", Camry screamed out. She fell to her knees and cried. I walked out because I hated to see her this weak. I knew I had to be strong for her but I couldn't let her see me cry. I wiped the tears from my face and regained my composure. I walked up to Camry, who was still on the floor. "Bae, get up. Let's go home.", I said. I helped her up and out the building and into the car. The whole way home was quiet, other than Camry's sniffles. "Nisha, go to Kailah's house.", Camry said breaking the silence.
