After everything that happened Luna had rushed home and immediately ran upstairs to hide in her room. Jason had been sweet and insisted that he walked her to the door to make sure that she got home okay. Everything was too loud, bright and smelled too strong to her. She closed the curtains in her room but everything was still too bright and hyper focused for her. The animals were so loud they seemed to be right next to her. She was panicking as she paced the floor going back and forth as she ran a hand through her hair. Suddenly as an idea popped into her head she ran to her dresser and started to throw things out scrambling around as she looked for something inside. Pulling out a cloth she then ran to her dresser to rummage through the drawers until she found four cotton balls. Quickly she put two of the cotton in her ears and two in her nose. She then wrapped the cloth around her head to cover her eyes. After she had made sure that everything was secure, she put her hands over her ears to block the noises out more. She sat on the floor against the desk slowly breathing in and out. Trying to stop her racing heart and racing thoughts about what was happening to her. She started to count one, breath-in, two, breathe-out, three, breathe-in, four, breathe out, five, breathe-in. She kept this going until it eventually helped her even out her rapidly beating heart and slowed her thoughts to where she could think a little better. Slowly she took her hands away from her ears letting the noise gradually return to her senses. After a while of trying to adjust to the noises even if they were super loud still but not as bad as before, she sat for a little longer before she moved the blindfold off but kept her eyes closed still. Eventually she removed all of the things she had used to block her overwhelmed senses. After she adjusted to best that she could at the moment she went back down to the shop in order to go to the herb room to start working. She brought some cotton if the smell of the herbs got to be too much for her. After finishing up most of the work in the herb room she finally decided to go see her parents and see what else they would need from her before she decided to go to bed to maybe get some sleep even though that probably would be a struggle. "Mom, Dad! I was wondering if you needed me to do anythi..."Luna walked into her dad's office but no one was their his trinkets and knickknacks lying around, she went up to the front to see if they were up their helping someone but when she got up there she noticed that there weren't any customers in the store and neither were her parents she was a little confused and thought that maybe it was dead, but she looked back at the door. The sign that told customers that they were open or closed said closed. Confused, Luna went to the back looking for her parents and her brother. "Mom! Dad! Lucas!" She went to the workshop room and to see if she would find her parents or brother in there but no one was there. Even more confused and starting to panic slightly, Luna went around the store looking for her family only not to find them. After searching the entire shop Luna to go to the door that led to the house and went up the stairs to the kitchen area. All the lights in the kitchen were off and the doors were shut and windows were all covered with their blinds. Which she honestly wasn't complaining about it gave her head some relief from the headache of all the craziness that was happening to her today but she didn't remember turning them off. She could see actually surprisingly well and saw what looked like people crouching in odd ways. She called out again "Mom! Lucas! Dad! Where are you? I've been looking everywhere and you're not downstairs." She said as she reached the light switch and turned the lights on. The light blinded Luna making her headache worse and had her regretting it especially when it was followed by the loud cries from the bunch of people in the room "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUNA!" Which made her head hurt even more since it almost sounded like an explosion going off making her wince at the noise. When the light stopped blinding her for the most part, Luna saw her family as well as her friends and some of their families around the table that had a giant cake on it with the words 'Happy 11th Birthday!' written on it. Even if she was feeling utterly rotten, she was happy to see everyone Luna went and hugged her mom and Dad. "Thank you!" Her parents smiled at her happily! "Of course. Anything for our little moon." Her father said patting her head. Lucas came over and gave her a hug and also gave her a little box with a red bow on it. "Happy Birthday Luna!" Smiled as she opened it to find a pair of wool socks with crazy plant designs. She gave a tired but grateful smile she had been needing some new ones. She gave him another hug before Lucas walked away to talk to some of the other guests. Looking around Luna saw Russ running around the room playing chase with the twins' younger siblings and her brother Lucas and walked over to Bria and who was blushing quite a bit as they talked. And the twins were talking to Luna's Uncle Ivan, who had been able to make it, they were watching him pull out an assortment of items he had in his pockets. Jason's parents were there as well and talking with Bria's as well as the twins' parents too before Luna's went over and joined them. She was debating whether or not she could escape unnoticed and go to bed or back to the herb room for some quiet since everything was becoming a bit noisy up in the house at the moment. At least she thought she might until Jason came up to her "Sorry I Know you weren't feeling good and should have probably warned you little bit ahead of time to prepare yourself or tell your parents so they could do it another time, but we wanted to surprise you, hopefully it wasn't too bad. How are you feeling?" Luna gave a small smile. "I feel a lot better now thank you." It was a lie but she didn't want to ruin this besides it was a nice thought. The twins' father came up to them. "How are you doing Luna?" He was very loud it hurt her ears. Putting on her best smile as to not give away at how much her head hurt from everything, Luna replied. "I'm doing good, Officer Lune's. How about you?" Officer Lune's smile grew. "Please call me Steven! No need for formalities. I'm doing quite well. Nothing too exciting except a few rambunctious kids and a few sightings in the woods of the forest creature from the hunters. But everything has been calm." Luna continued to smile, "That's good to hear!" Jason coughed. " Oh, sorry didn't see you, their lad! You must be Jason the son of Jane and Ozwold. Am I correct?" Officer Lune's seemed to be excited as he eyed Jason while reaching out a hand to shake which Jason grasped, "Yes those would be my parents. You must be the father of Kyle and Jordan." Officer Lune's seemed pleased. "Yes, indeed I am. I must say your parent are quite the folks. Good strong heads on their shoulders. Something I greatly admire!" At this point Luna wanted to sneak off to go down stairs since the volume had risen and her bedroom would definitely pick up the noise causing her head to feel like it will combust even if it already felt like it would. Jason looked at his parents who were conversing with the others. "Yes Sir! They are great parent; I count myself lucky to have them." Officer Lune's seemed pleased with the answer as he stroked his chin in thought. "That's good to hear. They are quite good folks that you got there." Jason smiled, "Thank you sir for your kind words in regards of them!" Officer Lune's clapped him on the back. "Nonsense, I just speak the truth. Now I have a question for your young man. Are you a ladies' man? Because if you aren't I can guarantee you that a lot of girls would probably swoon for you with that smile of yours." Jason at the unexpected question turned as red as the tomatoes on the table and Luna seemed to choke on the air slightly and probably would have burst into laughter if she hadn't been dealing with headache she had. Suddenly there was singing, which worsened the headache but she smiled through it, and the candles on the cake had been lit. "Make a wish, little moon!" Her mother said bringing the cake close to her. Luna looked around her and closed her eyes. What would I want to wish for when I already have everything I need or want. Maybe for her headache to go away but the thought of the green glow came to her mind but she quickly shoved the thought to the back of her mind, she blew out her candles. Everyone cheered and started to chat and eat cake. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves happy to see her, all her friends one by one came and wished her a happy birthday and gave her a gift, from the twins they gave her a blue satchel that you could wear as a backpack, Bria got her a writing journal, and jason got her a beautiful silver hairclip with little sapphires and emeralds with some irises on it. After a long while the party started to thin out as everyone started to clean up and get ready to go home. Luna saw Bria was still talking to her brother that is until Russ tackled Lucas with his infamous puppy kisses making Lucas fall in the process. Chuckling slightly, Luna decided to help clean up the rest of the party so she could go to her room or the herb room but when she turned, she bumped into her Uncle Ivan and almost fell over herself. Luckily her uncle caught her, "Woe there! Slow down a little there, little light!" Her Uncle said as he steadied her. "Sorry I got distracted by Lucas getting toppled over by Russ." She sighed as she smiled tiredly up at the man. Her uncle returned the smile before he reached into his pockets looking for something. "I have something to give you!" Luna started to shake her head, "But you already gave me things yesterday. You don't have to give me anything else." Uncle Ivan ignored her and pulled a red velvet bag out of one of his many pockets and handed it to her. Taking the bag cautiously she opened it and found a key on a necklace. "Oh, it's so pretty!" Luma exclaimed as she traced the enteric designs on it. "It's from us as well! We just needed him to hold onto it for us." She looked up to see her parents standing next to her uncle. They looked a little sad as they looked at the key she was holding. "The bag is the real gift from me. I found it on one of my hunts it can store quite a bit in there probably even you if you needed somewhere to hide quickly." Her Uncle said as he looked through his pockets again before he pulled out a letter and gave it to her mother. "Also, here you go Rosemay!" Her mother took it gingerly. "Thank you, Ivan." Her Uncle nodded his head before heading to the door. "I'll be off now. Happy birthday little light!" Luna was a bit confused, "Wait what does this key go to?" she put it around her neck as she asked. Her Uncle turned around and looked at her parents who shook their heads softly at him before he looked at her again, "That is for your parent to tell, Little Light." She looked at her parent expectantly her headache long forgotten and replaced with curiosity. "You're going to have to figure that out yourself. I think you may know already little moon." Her father said as he hugged her mother. She didn't know this was all so confusing first the light, then the dream, her senses going haywire and now this key. Nothing seemed to make any sense to her. Nodding his goodbyes her uncle left. Her mother reached into her pocket and pulled out a little bag this time blue and handed it to her. Luna opened it to find a ring that she had always admired but had never asked about it. "Is this your ring?" Her mom smiled. "Yes. It was my mother's and her mother's before her and her before her. It goes back many generations." Luna admired it in the light and tried to wear it but it didn't quite fit since it was a bit too big for any of her fingers. "I'll put it on the chain with the key so I can wear it when it fits me." Luna said putting it back into the bag. Luna went and gave her parents a hug. She stuck all her presents into her new bag from the twins. After everyone left and the party was cleaned up Luna headed to her room with Russ not very far behind her head had begun to ache again though this time it was very dull. Luna went to her desk and stuck the presents she had just received into the drawer next to the dog biscuits and her schoolbook on mythology. Luna grabbed the things she would need to get ready to go to bed and headed to the bathroom thinking she would braid her hair. As Luna was headed there, she realized that she had left her ribbon that she usually would use to tie her hair in the herb room. "Russ stay!" She said pointing to his bed that was never moved back out. Russ whined slightly and huffed at her but seemed to obey. Going towards the stairs to go down to the store she passed her parents' bedroom and heard her parents talking. "When are we going to tell?" She heard her father say. "I don't know, just not yet! Please let's not talk about this tonight. We just had a nice night let's not ruin it." Her mother said. "But we have to Rose! What happens if she finds out about it from someone else?" Confused, Luna leaned in to listen a little closer. "But she won't know no one else knows except the family! I just can't do it Adam." She heard her mother sob. She heard her father trying to comfort her mother but also reason with her. Luna rubbing her head went down the stairs thinking about what she just heard. Where they talking about her? Was there something they weren't they telling her? What was it. She went down the stairs and down the hall towards the herb room. As she neared the room she heard it again. The whispers. Thats when she saw the glow under the door. The same green glow that seemed to haunt her. Heart speeding up she walked hesitantly towards the door before tentatively reaching out and opening the door. She saw the glow coming from where it did last time. As if in a trance she walked to the little crawl space where the little door was. She crawled under the table to where she found the little door again. She reached the doorknob and again found that it was still locked. She felt the chain around her neck start to heat up and grow slightly heavier as if beckoning her to take it off. Pulling the chain up she saw her key and realized that it was the perfect size and shape for the keyhole on the door. Her heart racing in her chest, Luna slowly reached out and put the key to the door and put it in the keyhole under the little door knob and slowly turned it until she heard a click after she heard that she let go of the key and reached out to the door knob to turn it. The little door cracked open as she turned the knob. Taking a deep and shaky breath, Luna opened the little door and as soon as she opened it the light vanished as if it had never been there in the first place. Surprised she swung the door open wider to find two boxes inside covered in what seemed to be years' worth of dust and cobweb with an envelope on top of the bigger of the two boxes. Luna went to grab the boxes until she heard a crash and heard crackling and smelt smoke as if something was on fire. The noises seemed to be right next to her and the smell right in front of her overwhelming her senses. It startled her and hit her head on the counter above her. She soon realized it was coming from upstairs. Luna quickly started to crawl out from the little crawl space after she had closed the little door locking it again and scooted out from under the counter rubbing her head to see what was happening. She heard the screams of her mother and the yells of her father and brother, she also heard other screams as well but they sounded as if they were coming outside of the shop and house. She went to go to the door as she heard Russ's thudding feet outside coming towards the door. Before she could get to the door Russ ran into the room and shut the door behind him on his hind legs. She heard it click as if it had locked "What are you doing here Russ, I told you to stay! What is that noise outside?" Luna was starting to panic slightly as she went to open the door again to see what was happening outside but she found that the door was locked. "What?" She started to shake the knob in frustration as she tried to open the door. Suddenly she felt something hit her and make her fall on the floor. She felt something heavy and fluffy on top of her and heard more screaming and things falling outside the door. "Russ, get off me! I can barely breathe. And you know you're not allowed down in the shop you'll get your dog hair all over the medicine. I have to go see what is going on." Luna grasped out from under the dog. The dog let out a groan and a huff as he stubbornly stayed on top of her. Luna continued to hear the screams and things falling and breaking outside as well as crackling sounds as if from a fire. It sounded as if something heavy fell in front of the hallway that led back to the shop and also the room Russ and Luna were in. Starting to really panic she tried harder to get out from under Russ. "Russ, get off now!" She said started to scream at the dog. The dog seemed to sigh and finally lifted himself off of her and went to the back where some of the herbs were kept. Scurrying to stand back up. She reached for the door and tried to open it again but found it still locked or rather jammed. She heard more screams from outside. "Mom, Dad, Lucas!" She heard more screams making her blood start to run cold. "MOM!" She shook the knob more and heard more screams. She started to bang on the door with her fists. The smoke smell becoming stronger. "DAD!" She started to kick on the doorknob trying to force it open. "LUCAS!" pieces of the door started to crack and break off with each kick she gave. She continued to do this and heard Russ bark right behind her. She whipped to tell him off only when she turned around only to get a face full of gold and blue dust blasted into her face as she breathed in. Coughing she tried to wave the dust out of her face and started to feel a little lightheaded. She saw that Russ had a cluster of purple flowers that were used for sleep medicine in his mouth that he had shook everywhere. "Russ! Bad dog!" She said as she fell to her knees holding onto the door and started to feel heavy. She felt the world start to spin around her as her breathing slowed down, her heart did as well, the screaming that moments ago sounded so close started to fade to the background as she slid to the ground onto her back. She saw Russ drop the flowers and come towards her whimpering slightly and lying down next to her like he was shielding her from something. Her vision began to go dark with black swirling in on her and the noises around her started to disappear completely. "Russ, mom... dad... Lucas..." She muttered as the world faded from her then was it completely black as she slipped into the void of nothing.
A/N: So, I noticed some misspellings and some other mistakes. And no one mentioned them, so I assume that they were not noticed but it is still a little embarrassing to notice and start to panic a bit. But I fixed it. 😅My computer is working a little bit better now and isn't deleting every five minute whatever I work on, but it still does it sometimes. Hope you all have a fabulous day, and I will try to get the next chapter out soon. So sorry.
P.S. Should I make a character sheet to introduce everyone to y'all, or no? 🤔
