The ground can be felt rumbling at first in an indiscriminate manner, waking up a sluggish man. He groaned a bit with a hand on his head and eyes adjusting to the dark space which trickled in rays of light. In front of him was a wooden gate with thick pieces of lumber spiked into the ground, there were gaps between each log that showed the outside. Azreal stood up once he got his bearings and shuffled his boot covered feet across the deserted ground.
The room which held Azreal was quite spacious but lacked any furniture and smelled putrid as though it had been littered before. Azreal reaches the gate in front of him as his gaze met with the eyes of several hundred others a distance away. They were spectators surrounding the assumed arena with joy striking their faces. It was then that he knew what the rumbling was, it was the hype the hundred other people had anticipating this event.
"Shit... How did I end up here? Where is Juniper... and the others?" He briefly paused as he looked towards the ground in thought. "Hey! Hey! Where am I!?" Azreal yelled towards the crowd but no clear response was given as he was drowned out.
Growing inpatient he stepped back and proceeded to ram his shoulder against the bulky gate which didn't give in. He continued like a bull seeing red, small splinters of wood chiseled off as each charge weakened it. Before any more damage could be done the gate roared in wait as the chains connected on top the pillars cranked upward to let Azreal out.
He rushed out which revealed more of him finally. Azreal wore a fur cape that had a gutted bear head sitting on his right shoulder. A leather sleeveless body armor strapped together with 2 buckles on each side. The boots he fashioned were also strapped and sat high above the ankles closely snug to his skin. Azreal dusted off his light brown pants and held around his hip. There he felt the rubbery hilt of a battleaxe, double sided blades with a serrated middle that made up four indented sections.
A joyous feminine voice zipped through Azreal's ears. "You're here thank the seas! I thought we all split up somehow, but have you seen the others?"
She seemed relatively short with red skin wearing a red corset over a pillowy petticoat dress that sat just below the knee. It was paired with boots to match in her pirate garments.
"Juniper! I haven't seen the others yet but they might be in one of the other gate doors" Azreal held up his axe over his shoulder as he spoke facing the audience.
A mild squeak noise could be heard from her neck as a furry creature revealed itself. "Say hi Thor-Zues, good job sniffing him out. Not like it would have been hard since he smells BAD most of the time!" She snickers to herself as she teases Azreal.
"You idiots we're right behind you." A more calloused sounding women blurted out.
The hint of annoyance range clearly through Juniper's gold stamped ears; jewelry accented her red soft complexion. The flashy gold stemmed from her crown as well, with an intricate head piece made to personalize the horns she had. She was gorgeous. Without a beat Juniper turned around with a light jingle.
"Silvia!"
"Johnny!" Excitingly another voice said. There stood a 6ft lengthy wood elf dressed to a tee in SteamPunk aesthetic. He wore a vest pinned together with small gears instead of buttons, leather gloves, and brown slacks to match. Ironically Johnny had imitated Juniper as he exited his chamber.
Silvia on the other hand contrasted his look, remaining neutral in aesthetics wearing an all black skin suit tagged with a hood and cape. She had sleek boots on that hugged her shins and had on a chest strap which held several knives.
The crowd erupted as the party had revealed themselves, each exiting their individual cells and into the center. There the party stood in reassurance just glad to see each other. Though the idea that they were in an arena hadn't registered, the sound of clanking chains caught their attention. Exiting another gate within the sandy colosseum stood a chicken, two, three, four.. A few more came out totaling around a dozen.
