Firstly, I would love to thank my best friend. Without your endless support and motivation, this book wouldn't have been completed. Though it took longer than the set date, you still went with my pace and pushed me — she also screamed in the car when I told her the ending. And hopes the readers jump me for doing so.
Next, I would love to thank you, the readers ( especially the day 1's) for taking time out of you
world to read this book. Thank you for tagging along on this heart-wrenching journey. Your support means everything to me. Your comments and lengthy messages either discussing the book or just ranting your opinion to not spoil for new readers means everything to me. Never in my life did I think I would get this far in terms of support and 'popularity'. I was like 'damn, this plot is kind of hitting right now. Lemme test it out and see if I can make everyone cry ' And look at where we are 💀 But anyways, I'm eternally grateful towards your genuine interest in my growing craft. In truth, this book could've been 1000000 times better and I can acknowledge that. It's beautifully written but the plot was missing them hit points. There were even plot holes and sometimes I was just doing shit for the drama or to motivate me to continue. And Ima be real, this isn't my best work. Even if it's a first draft, it could always be better. But regardless, I'm just happy I completed something. That I can say that I have completed something. That I can grow from this and tell even more better stories in the future. ( A lesson to me to not post as I go so I can shape up my work to perfection or as perfect as it can be. And to outline and create character sheets, which I didn't for this book) For sure, I will definitely rewrite this book one day and trust, with my skills now, it'll be a different story. Especially in terms of allowing Peizhi to be all that she still was but get her revenge. And wrote more of Peizhi and Zian's love build up to sell the plot more or where I was going. I kept holding back and refusing to challenge the plot and idk why but I know now. Growth I guess lol.
I know many wished Peizhi to be Empress. I'm sorry I couldn't deliver that for you. While she had ambition, she has always and only wanted her husband's loyalty and a simple life. Of course, she wanted power and to be feared but only in the name of protecting herself since no one was doing it for her. But realized later, it just wasn't something she wanted if she had to lose more than she's gained. I hope I showcased it well, but I wish I altered some things around.
As stated before, there were many plot holes. And fillers. For that, I'm very sorry. At the same time, this book is a draft and I've been writing it for about 4 or 5 years now and most likely forgot information. I tried my best to seal in the plot holes I could find. I have no regret writing this book and I'm happy I didn't drop it...I just wish I added more information at least for the reader to know even while Peizhi didn't. I ended chapters on conversations faders and it was lazy writing. Not sure if many noticed — I did — but there were moments when I didn't know which path I was wanted to follow. The political, war path + tragic love. Or just stick to tragic love path.
Not only that, but there have been many unanswered questions on Zian's end. If you ask about it, I don't mind answering them. However — in the near future, not now cause a bitch is tired💀 — but I have been thinking of writing a sequel. Zian's pov and where the hell he's been and doing. I have written his pov many times — it was gonna be the ending of the book, years after Peizhi's death and he's incredibly unhappy and miserable — because I was originally going to write this book as a duo pov, but it worked best as Peizhi's Pov. Writing the sequel is a THOUGHT. I might do it or might not, but if I do, I will actually finish writing the book then publish it afterwards.
