(Chapter warnings: mentions of killing, kidnapping, panic attacks)
Watch your back Blood God.
Things are never as they seem.
Goodluck.
Techno awoke suddenly, gasping for breath. As soon as his eyes were open the voices started yelling
Blood for the blood God.
They screeched until Technoblade's ears rang from the noise. Techno sat up with his hands over his ears in a desperate attempt to relieve himself of the painful noise, his glossy hair shimmering silver in the moonlight.
Throwing the covers aside, Techno raced outside until he was standing on the deck alone in the moonlight. Technoblade threw his head back as he gazed at the pinpoints of white light in the inky sky as he tried to calm his ragged breathing.
———
Techno sat. legs crossed, completely still; alone with his thoughts as he watched the sun rise above the rippling water.
———
The sun had just begun casting light on the ship as Tubbo flopped down beside Technoblade with a soft huff.
"Hey Techno"
Tubbo whispered serenely, not wanting to shatter the peaceful atmosphere.
At the sound of Tubbo's voice, a chanting of
kill him, kill him, kill him.
Started circling around Technoblade's thoughts. Techno clenched his fists and took deep breaths as he attempted to shove the voices aside.
"Hello Tubbo."
Technoblade replied when he had gathered enough control over the voices.
As Tubbo's eyes took in Techno's disheveled state, he sighed before gesturing to Technoblade's hair with raised eyebrows. With a grunt of approval from Techno, Tubbo began work on the mess that Techno's hair had become.
———
With each tug of hair, Techno took a deep breath until slowly the voices receded to background noise; but not before giving one final message
Watch your back Blood God.
Tubbo hummed tunelessly to himself as Technoblade watched the sky lighten until it was a muted blue.
———
When Tubbo finished the long braid he gave a single soft tug on the end before flashing Techno a smile and leaving him alone once more.
After a few moments Techno sighed and pushed himself to his feet. A small twinge in his side was all that remained of Technoblade's rib fracture, the weeks of rest allowing it to heal.
———
Once the six travelers were awake and ready, the group prepared for the day's activity.
Puffy had told the youngest members of a spectacular clearing nestled into the nearby mountains and so they had begged Phil to let them go on a hike.
———
The sun was still rising in the clear sky by the time the group assembled their things and coaxed Wilbur out of his dreary mood from being woken too early for his liking.
They all waved to Puffy before setting off, Philza in the lead with the map and compass.
———
The sun glimmered through the emerald canopy of leaves, dappling the dirt track that weaved through the forest.
