Hello anyone who has decided that they will read this book.
I am sure that if you are here you probably want this part to be over with and I will try to keep it short. Basically I started creating this book after reading a prompt, I do not need to continue this but I rather like it so far so I decided to publish it on Wattpad.
If the books get enough reads I'll continue writing it. And that's it time to get onto the book!

Everything is on fire, Buildings falling, the sky has lost its once vibrant blue it has been replaced with a dark lifeless grey, a product from the smoke from the smoke. I can't think I can only feel pain, I don't even know where from, everything hurts. I can't move. I need to move. But I can't, all I can do is look at the sky and imagine what used to be. The sky used to be blue. These building used to be home to thousands of people. I used to be scared... and I still am.
New York city, a human beehive. Constant buzzing, always working, always moving. Large crowds of people walking down the street, A tall man included in this. The man is trying to push past the people fast, sliding past and in-between watching to make sure he doesn't snag his suit on someone's purse. A few people yelling at him as he shoved past trying to push past the crowd, his dark chocolate skin shimmering in the New York sun. He finally gets past the crowd of people fastening his walk to a much faster version. As he walks past someone who appears to be around the same age as him, he feels a small tug to his pant pockets. He stops walking and catches the man's hand that is now holding his wallet. The man takes a second to study the now frozen guy from his baggy pants, red and black stripped shirt to his red beanie sitting on his head that seems to have a small print of a duck on it and finally to his face. The thief face shows one emotion, fear.
"Nice wallet there... Looks familiar" The businessman said. He snatches his wallet back before scoffing and shoving it back into his pant pockets. He shoves the man's hand back into his chest as the thief stumbles back, looking ashamed, not that he had attempted to steal from someone it was because he had gotten caught. "Scum of the earth you people are" the businessman says as he turns to walk away.
----
I turned to walk away from that douche bag, didn't even have the respect to look me in the eye. I hate people like him. People who try to steal from others for their own benefit. Just as I start to walk away, I feel someone tug on my shoulder turning me back around. And before I knew it, I feel a sharp impact into the right side of my face. I stumble back a bit holding my face before looking up at my attacker. It's the thief, of course it is...
"Names Bart, pass it on to your mother" the thief says,
Yeah no, screw him. I grab Bart by his shoulder bending him over before I knee him right into his stomach. He cries out in pain as he straightens up holding his stomach. Before he could do anything, I punch him right in the eye sending him flying backwards and landing on his ass. The people walking past have stopped to help him while I stand glaring down at him.
"Names Jax, but your mother already knows that." I smirk at him as the strangers hold him down from trying to get up. As he jerks and wiggles in the strangers' arms and care, I laugh and start walking away. I can hear Bart screaming in the distance yelling insults to redeem his ego. "Last names Hugh, although your mothers already taken it" I can make out in all the talking. I scoff to myself at his poor attempts to heal his breaking self-respect.
I can no longer hear his screaming and yelling as I walk up the steps of my office door. I walk through the rotating door giving a small nod to the receptionist Claire. "Good morning, Mr Achebe" she greets me rather loud and high pitch. Claire annoys me, Mike recons she's in love with me but she isn't my type, she a little too short.
I continue walking taking note of the white tiled floor and the white painted walls, as well as the occasional pot plant along the floor. I walk towards the elevator doors taking long strides ending up in me getting there faster. I enter the elevator pressing the 11th floor button before taking out my phone and re reading my previously sent messages with my boss.
"Please come into work early today"
"Pardon me for questioning you but may I ask why?"
"Because I said so, and I must inform you of some news"
"Yes sir"
I gulp reading the message repeatedly. I put my phone away before wiping my now slightly sweaty hands on my blazer. I take a deep breath and remind myself of how accomplished and respectable I am. I put my hand on my cheek and cringe at the pain I feel when in contact with a fresh new bruise. "Damn it" I take out my phone camera looking at the bright purple fresh bruise on my cheek. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when the elevator dings meaning I arrived at my destination. I put away my phone and start my walk down the long and endless hallway.
Taking long strides, I make my way to the end of the hallway arriving in front of a massive dark oak wood door with golden handles. Before even knocking the door opens and I'm faced with mike. One of my best and only friends, "hey" I say making eye contact with his bright blue eyes. But unlike usual underneath his eyes are deep purple eye bags and now since I think about it mike look rather disappointed and sad "hey, what's wrong?" he doesn't even respond before shoving past me and into my shoulder. I turn watching him as he continues to walk down the hallway with his head down. 'What's happened to him?' I wonder before turning back towards my boss's door and entering.
