It took some convincing. Most houses formed unions with houses they didn't know and wanted something from. The cassels were already their allies but Carolina pleaded and pleaded. The Cassels had been loyal to the starks for years. Rodrick Cassel was close with Rickard as Jory close with the stark child.
'Ned!'' Carolina begged
'Caro No I'm sorry.' Ned told her
'Why not?'
'You are too young.' ned told her
'You were 17 when you married catelyn.' Carolina countered.
'You are 16.' Ned reminded
'Catelyn was 15.' Carolina retorted.
'Jory is 22.'
'Women my age are forced to marry men of 60 hell 80! A six year difference is nothing.' Carolina told him confidently.
'Caro no.'

'Marriages are to form unions.' Ned reminded her. 'We already have a strong bond with the cassels.'
'But I love him! Doesn't love count for anything!' Carolina begged grabbing onto her brother.

'Please just think about it. Okay? Just take your time. Think. Long and hard.' Carolina offered stepping away from him. 'and the moment you think it's a good idea, stop thinking."

'You like my sister?' Jory swallowed the lump in his throat.
'I do. I love her.' Jory admitted.
'She was begging me to let her marry you.' ned told him. 'Why is that? What did you do?''
'I haven't defiled her, or touched her I swear it.'' Jory said nervously. ''I've been a friend of yours your whole family for a long time now.'' Jory reminded him
'That you have.'' Ned agreed
'I don't know when it happened but I love her.'' Jory told him. ''I know nothing can come of it-''
'Why not?'' Ned mused
'Because she will need to marry for political gain.'' Jory realized 'but I do care about her.'' Ned sighed
'You are a good man.'' Ned said putting a hand on his shoulder. ''You will make a fine brother.''
''What?''
''You want to marry my sister?''
'I do...'' jory agreed not willing to believe what he was hearing for the fear that this was all a dream.
''I give you two my blessing.'' Ned told him. ''Go tell Caro the good news.'' Ned suggested
''Thank you. Thank you.''

'Damnit.' she muttered he wrapped his arms around her.
'He gave us his blessing.' Jory whispered against her and her eyes shot up to his.
''What!'' Carolina had the biggest smile on her face as he kissed her. She jumped up into him her legs wrapped around him as her lips melded with his. 'You're not lying to me are you?'' She questioned pulling back slightly, he kept his arms tight around her.
'I would never lie to you.'
