"God I can't believe it's my lecture with you guys. I mean, " Sanders paused, wiping an imaginary tear from eyes. "We've all grown together as a family and.."
Zayn groaned as he went on and on, he closed his eyes and laid his head on the table. The class should have been over thirty minutes ago. In fact there was no point to it anyway, he wasn't even sure why he came. He remebered the struggle he wen through getting out of bed this morning, the warmth and comfort of his sheets keeping him hostage. And yet he had found himself here. He had already handed in his assignments, he had finished his exams and he had gotten his credits. This was a complete and utter waste of time.
He opened his eyes again lazily and suddenly the reason why was infront of him. Harry beamed at him, his head on the table in the same position as Zayn, the two boys facing each other as their eyes shared intense and intimate gazes. Harry reached underneath the table and grabbed hold of his hands, using his thumb to rubs circles into his hands. His touch was comforting, infact his entire presence was one of the greater thrills he had gotten in life recently. He must have done something truly great in his past life to be deserving of this blessing.
"I can't wait to get out of here." Zayn whispered and Harry nodded, his smile growing larger, if that was even possible. Zayn looked at him, took in his features, an eternal picture forming in his head as he wondered how he had gotten so lucky. The world moved on around them but they didn't care, lost in the comfort of each other's presence, the only thing that they had ever really needed.
"Are you guys planning on spending your summer here?" The sound of Sanders voice pulled them out of the tranquil solitude they had found themselves in and they sat up, looking around to realise the lecture hall was empty. The lecture was over, the semester was finished. Harry looked at Zayn who returned the gaze. School was over for the year. They both got up and raced for the door.
"Bye Professor Sanders see you next year!" Zayn yelled over his shoulder as he ran and Harry turned around quickly to send the man a wave before following after Zayn.
"Wait I- I wanted to hear Harry speak." He pouted, kicking the chair lightly. He had heard from almost everyone, even fellow colleagues about Harry's slow but steady recovery and how he was able to share his voice every once in awhile. It seemed like everyone had been able to have conversation with Harry except for Sanders, something he was particulary spiteful about because if he hadn't paired Zayn and Harry up to begin with, perhaps none of this would have even happened.
But as he looked out the window to see Zayn and Harry hurriedly run to catch the bus, hand in hand as they laughed, he couldn't help but smile. That, their happiness. That's all that mattered in the end.

"We made it! Just in time as well. " Zayn exclaimed triumphantly and Harry gave him look before patting the spot next to him, telling him to sit next to him. They had found themselves sitting on a hill overshadowing a beautiful, waiting for sunset to settle as they shared a joint and cake that said 'We survived' in bright blue icing. Harry coughed heavily as he took a puff, handing the roll back to Zayn with watery eyes. Zayn laughed, kissing him on the cheek. "You're adorable." Harry glared at him before pointing at the sky, telling him to look.
The sun began its descent, casting a warm, golden light over the tranquil meadow where Zayn and Harry sought refuge. They layed back, side by side, as their bodies nestled comfortably against the soft grass, finding solace in each other's presence.
Zayn traced gentle patterns on Harry's arm, his touch a soothing balm that eased Harry's restless soul. The weight of their shared experiences seemed to dissolve in the quietness of the moment. It was crazy to think of everything they had gone through together, the trials and tribulations that moulded their friendship.
A gentle breeze rustled through the grass and Harry turned his head towards Zayn, his eyes brimming with unspoken emotions. They had both fought battles that left scars, wounds that ran deep, but somehow, in each other's arms, they found heaven.
Zayn's voice, barely above a whisper, filled the air, "You know, Harry, in a world that overwhelms us with noise, it's here, in this stillness, that I find my peace. And having you by my side makes it all so much better."
Harry's lips curled into a soft smile, a flicker of understanding passing between them. Words may have failed them in the past, but the silent language they had developed spoke volumes. Zayn's touch, and Harry's unwavering presence, was the lifeline they needed to navigate the chaotic currents of their minds and traumtic past.
In the silence that enveloped them, Zayn's heart swelled with a profound love for the man lying beside him. Together they had found healing, learned to embrace their broken pieces and found strength in vulnerability.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a tapestry of colors across the sky, Zayn gently brushed a lock of hair away from Harry's forehead.Harry's eyes fluttered closed, his hand seeking Zayn's, their fingers entwined. In that fleeting touch, Harry found the courage to let go of his past and step into an uncertain future, a future with Zayn.
An unspoken understanding surrounded them, a testament to the bond forged between them. They didn't need grand declarations or poetic proclamations of love. Their affection found its expression in the simplest gestures, in the gentle cadence of their breaths as they lay there, grounded in each other's presence.
"Harry," Zayn murmured, his voice laden with affection and tenderness." Talk to me."
