"10,000 years old!" Everyone but Anessa exclaimed in shock.
"What are you? An immortal witch or something?!" Matthias yelled out, forgetting that she said that she is human.
Anessa closed her eyes, feeling a headache coming.
"Yes I'm old! Old enough to be your greatest grandma! Now you kids better listen carefully because I will not repeat what I say. I'm going to start telling my story," she told them.
While some of them feel annoyed again at being called a kid, the otherworlders nodded for Anessa to continue.
"Alright, here is how it goes...."
----------------------------------------------------------
In her original life, she was an a "average" human woman name Anessa Rosswald living her life in the 22nd century on Earth.
Well, maybe not average.
You see, Anessa was born from the famous Rosswald family that dominates the world in many sectors of business, entertainment, and technology.
As a person born from a family of great wealth and prestige, you would think that Anessa would live a life of a princess.
But it was never like that for her.
Anessa was the youngest Rosswald child among many brothers and sisters, and was seen as an insignificant spec on the line. That is because Anessa had never shown any signs of being a prodigy like her siblings.
The Rosswalds had always been a family born of prodigies.
Until her.
She had average grades in school. She was never good at sports, art, and music. Her family even said to her face that she was not beautiful enough compared to her siblings.
So Anessa is just average. There is nothing wrong with being average. The majority of people on Earth are average themselves.
But according to the Rosswalds, average is not good enough.
And having an average person with Rosswald blood in their veins is a stain on the family line.
The Rosswalds refuse to be anything less than perfect.
When Anessa turned 18, she decided to move out of the main Rosswald mansion when she got sick of the way they treated her for most of her life. They suggested for her to move to the Rosswalds most secluded mansion that was the furthest away from civilization instead of her getting her own apartment in the city. Naively, Anessa didn't think much of it. She thought they finally showed they cared for her by offering one of the family homes.
She was so wrong!
It was a big mistake to take their offer.
For one thing, it takes longer for Anessa to drive towards the university campus. It also takes a greater distance to go shopping for necessities. Anessa was not provided servants to help her. Anessa did everything on her own. She even had a part time job that makes her come home late because her family didn't bother to give her enough allowance. Anessa wants to call and complain but it has become completely clear that her family doesn't care enough about her to listen.
Her life was just bitter and miserable, and will continue to be so.
So for the next 3 years it's been like this, just Anessa going to university and working. Just taking care of herself. No one in her family visited her or gave her a call. They did not even invite her to come for events.
Then on the day she turns 21....her life ended.
It happened when she came back late from work. Anessa was just too exhausted from her fast food job that she didn't notice anything unusual.
She opened the door to her room and only saw darkness. She turned on the light switch after going inside her room. When she turned around, she gave a startled gasp. The surprise turn into pure fear.
There is a masked man pointing a gun at her in her room. He must have snuck behind her without a sound.
The masked man instantly shot Anessa on the chest.
The impact of the bullet to her chest threw Anessa across the room towards the wall. Blood splattered over the wall and onto the floor.
Anessa coughed up blood.
"Uggh..." Anessa gurgles out in immeasurable pain. What just happened....?
Anessa couldn't focus well but still sees that the masked man is walking in unhurried steps toward her prone form on the floor. His entire being is in all black from head to toe. She can't see his eyes because he wore black sunglasses.
He harshly grabbed a fistful of her hair.
"Still alive huh....hehe not for long," said the unknown man in cold amusement.
He took out a phone from his back pocket and dialed a number while his other hand is still grabbing on to her hair. The phone rang a few times until a voice is heard.
"What is it?" An impatient but familiar gruff voice said, "Is it done?"
Anessa was able to widen her eyes only a fraction because she can feel herself dying.
That voice, I hadn't heard it in a while but....don't tell me...No! It can't be! Why?!!
"Yes it is done Mr. Rosswald. Your daughter is now dying in front of me." The masked man said to the phone.
"Dying?! She is not dead yet?! And she is not my daughter. A trash like her can never be my daugher."
Is that my father....?
"Sir the girl will be dead any second. You don't have to worry."
"Good." Then the call ended.
"Rich bastard hanged up on me," the masked man mumbled. He turn to look at Anessa's form.
"With a father like that, I kind of feel bad for you. Welp, my mission is done. I hope you have a good next life," the masked man said with a careless tone and let go of her hair.
The man stood up and walked away from Anessa's dying body while whistling a tune that seems to be from some sort of song. Anessa watched his backside disappear out of her room with struggling eyes.
So my father had me killed...even though I stayed out of sight for so long...
Succumbing to her blood loss, Anessa closed her eyes....
And went through 10,000+ years of no good lives.
