We were in a Starbucks, apparently that son of Pluto had a lot of money, because there food is expensive and he bought it like it was a happy meal. He walked casually over to a table where me and Peyton were sitting at. We sat down and I decided to finish the conversation We had on our way here. "So, let me get this straight. You're a son of this god called Pluto, I'm the son of this goddess called Hecate, and we still don't know which god is her parent." Peyton looked at me with annoyance.
"Oh! Don't forget the Spirit of Delphi." Peyton chimed in.
"Yeah, yeah."
"We should get going guys Clytius is still chasing us." The son of Pluto said.
"First, what's your name." Me and Peyton said in unison. We looked at each other, an uncomfortable silence filled the room. I cracked a smirk towards her, but she countered with a scowl.
The son of Pluto broke the silence. "Just call me Caz."
"Okay, Caz." Peyton said with a smile. "Let's go."We walked on the sidewalk for about 5 minutes. My Xiphos was sheathed and strapped to my side by two black, leather belts tied to my waist. I looked over at Peyton, her curly brown hair was tied in a ponytail and it sparkled in the setting sun. She had changed to a tank top and cardigan, but she had her same blue slim jeans on. The sparkles in her eyes danced playfully. "I'm so hot."
"Yeah, you sure look hot." I said. I immediately regretted it. Both Caz and Peyton looked at me.
"Excuse you." Peyton's voice went stern. Her eyes were drained of the dancing sparkles, all that was left was a cold, hard stare. My heart was pounding against my ribcage. My eyes darted around trying to find something else to look at other than Peyton's stare.
"Peyton I-I didn't mean it like that. You know that right?" I said, my voice shaking.
"Shut up! Just...Shut up. Her cheeks were red, she looked more embarrassed than mad. She cleared the air. "Anyway, where are we going, Caz?"
"I sence a strong power, maybe magic, near the GoldenGate Bridge, whatever it is it should be friendly.
"Should!" I complained. " Why not is. In case you guys haven't noticed I'm still not sure what exactly is going on."
"Well, Acacius, I don't see you sensing the supernatural." Caz argued.
"Guys..." Peyton said.
"That's 'cause I'm not a freak that can summon the dead!" It fell silent. Caz looked like he had just been stabbed in the gut.
"Guys." Peyton repeated. "Are there supposed to be two suns." We all peered into the sky."
"Gah!" Caz screamed, covering his eyes. "What is that!"
"Ignis Avis..." I said in awe.
"What? Never mind. We should get into shade. It's pretty hot. Hey, are you okay Acacius?" Peyton said.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Shade...shade is good" My vision was getting blurry. I fell.
