Mackenzie finishes writing several letters for her daughter, who will be curious about what happened to her parents and why they won't come back to her. The woman packs a backpack in which there will be enough money for a few months and Athena, Seth, Leah, and Embry's corresponding passports. Mack inserted the letters along with some pictures and memories for her daughter to always have her mother and father by her side wherever she goes.

-It's a romantic notion, isn't it? That a righteous few can defy a great evil. - Alistair says, entering the library, scaring Mackenzie. She stops putting the things away in the backpack before approaching the man with her arms crossed and a smirk. - I must admit you even had me believing for a moment.

-Really? What made you change your mind? That I humiliated you in front of everyone? - Mack asks mockingly. - You can return to where you came from, Alistair, and hide like the jerk you are. But when you do need help, don't come begging to Carlisle.

-Well, good luck. You're gonna need it. - The man gets closer to her, but she grabs his hand, making a karate chop out of him.

-Go away, Alistair. Your presence isn't vital for me. - Mackenzie lets the man go abruptly, who glares at her.

Alistair turns around and exits the room, leaving the woman alone again.

Athena finds herself in the living room, in front of the tree that she decorated along with Charlie ans Sue, who prepare the final details of the food. Seth and Leah are sat on the couch, eating along with Jacob and Bella. Mack finds herself looking througb¿h the window, realising the snow is starting to stick.

Edward approaches his wife to hug her waist, pulling her out of her thoughts.

-The snow is sticking. - She says with worry, holding her husband's hands.

-We still have today. - The married couple stays silent for a few seconds, until looking at the kitchen where Sue and Charlie are.

-I'm glad my dad found somebody that makes him happy. - Mack admits with a smile, watching how her father kisses Sue's cheek, making the woman smile.

-Everything will be alright, my love. We won't give up. - Edward assures, kissing her cheek.

-All right! Present time! - Charlie announces, getting out of the kitchen along with Sue. - Seth, Leah, stop eating.

The siblings chuckle but obey the man.

-Seth, you start. - The boy stands up from the couch to approach the tree, taking a small envelope with snowflakes prints from in between the branches. He crouches down to Athena, who grabs the present with excitement.
