After their lesson with Hagrid, the twins had transfiguration with Professor McGonagall. She smiled at the first years as they came in and introduced herself. First she talked about transfiguration to them while they took notes. After that she gave everyone a matchstick and tried to get them to turn it into a needle. Aurora and Melissa both managed to do it before anyone else, and McGonagall awarded them their first 5 house points each.
Rose soon managed to transfigure her matchstick soon after, but Roxanne had more trouble... One end of the matchstick goes vaguely silver, but still wooden, whereas the other end changes into a point.
"What am I doing wrong?" She whispers to the twins. They help her out, and soon all four have a needle sitting in front of them. But they aren't the only ones, Malfoy does too.
"First years," Mcgonagall says, over the noise of the children, "You may now go to your next lesson now." They all slowly file out of the room, and the Gryffindors and Slytherins make their way to Defense Against the Dark Arts.
