Xiao wasn't quite sure why he agreed to this. 'Partying' or going out for drinks really wasn't his thing. In fact, he can't remember the last time he has had any alcoholic drink of any sort, he much rather prefers to drink coffee, energy drinks, or even water can satisfy him. Xiao doesn't see the point in destroying your body with alcohol, he has seen respectable people turn into horny, or babbling idiots due to alcohol consumption.

Even now, he still holds those views strongly... and yet... here he was. He stood outside a well known bar in Teyvat city; 'angel shares'. An odd name but it's not like it matters to anyone.

Beside Xiao was a much taller man, in fact, Xiao only barely reached up to his shoulder. The man was dressed in a lean dark brownish suit coat, under that a black loose button up shirt that had only been buttoned up half way and exposed a bit of his chest. And to go with he wore trousers that matched his suit jacket. Along with all of that a few silver necklaces hung around his neck, resting between his.. Boobs?.

Xiao himself had never actually seen Zhongli dress like this, and yet it was still pretty in character. Zhongli's casual closet consisted of respectable suits or comfortable looking clothing that he could only describe to fit in the 'dark academia' category.

Currently, they were stuck outside as they awaited their other two friends to finally show up. Xiao had gotten driven here by Zhongli, seeing as they live pretty close by to each other, and Zhongli didn't want Xiao to walk all by himself, also probably because Zhongli had a feeling Xiao would end up not coming at all if he did... which, was completely true.

Xiao was quickly becoming impatient, even though they had only been waiting about... 15 minutes. He shoved his hands into the large pockets of his jeans. His own outfit wasn't very special, he hadn't really tried to look 'nice' at all. He came in a simple Black t-shirt and baggy black jeans. He had a black hoodie-jacket that dropped off his shoulders, and sagged behind him. Zhongli had taken the time to swipe his bangs backwards and out of his face. As much as he hated it, he left it how it was, knowing Zhongli would only push them back again, being the dad friend he is.

Just as he opened his mouth to complain about the extended absence of their two friends, a loud high pitched voice cut through the air before he could.

"ZHONNGLLIIII~ XIAAO!~ HEYAAA!"

Xiao turned towards the noise.

A small man was walking towards the two, waving his hand around dramatically in the air. Venti. Venti was dressed in a White crop-top with a half sleeved aqua green jacket over top, and he wore the shortest shorts Xiao has ever seen. Could he even count those as shorts any more? Why was he even paying so much attention to... never mind. To go along with his fit he wore some silver bracelets on his wrist and a necklace that bounced off his chest as he ran towards them.

Behind Venti, a taller man was jogging to keep up, but to not look like a complete idiot, which to Xiao, he looks like an idiot all the time. His name was Childe. The ginger who had the biggest fattest crush on Zhongli. Xiao didn't want him to have anything to do with Zhongli though. He was a bad influence and he didn't trust Childe at all, even though the lot have known each other for years now.

Childe was dressed similarly to Venti in ways. He wore a tight black t-shirt that easily showed off the dips and shape of his muscles. Over top he wore a leather jacket. Along with that he wore black jeans and a silver chain necklace around his neck.

The two finally caught up to the others.

"Sorry we took so long!" Venti laughed slightly and rubbed the back of his dead.

"It's all Venti's fault.. He took forever." Childe grumbled, pushing a hand through his own hair and fluffing it up a bit. Childe had been given the task to drive Venti here, which in hindsight was fine, since he would have passed Venti's estate on the way here anyways.

"Aaah!~.." Venti let out a childish whine, puffing out his cheeks as he crossed his arms "I said sorry! I lost track of time..."

"No worries. We were not waiting too long." Zhongli smiled at Venti and Childe, dismissing their late arrival with a wave of his hand.

Xiao wasn't sure if it was the lighting of the setting sun or.. Something else unbeknownst to him, but he found himself staring at Venti, who was clinging onto Zhongli's sleeve and probably chattering on about something he had no interest in. His took in the way Venti's neatly braided hair bounced slightly as he hopped slightly on spot. And Venti's pale and fair skin, his piercing bright eyes and long eyelashes. His soft looking lips and his curvy bod-

Xiao quickly shook his head and turned his head off to the side, mentally cursing himself. What the hell was that Xiao?! What was worse it seems Childe had caught him staring.

"Come on, let's go inside now" Zhongli's voice pulled him out of his mental torment.

They all nodded along with Zhongli and began on their way to the entrance, Venti rushed ahead and waltzed in right past the security guard who paid no mind to the short 15 year old looking man. Venti was a regular here, so all the staff can easily recognise him without any need for ids, though it took a while for it to be this way.

The rest of them entered with no difficulties, though the guard cast a doubting look down at Xiao, it was easily fixed with a quick word from Zhongli. Another issue that comes with being short that Xiao barely had a run in with.

As they walked down a small corridor towards the bar's entrance, he could hear the blaring music booming through the walls, slightly vibrating the ground. Along with the music there were cheers and laughter, and some terrible singing.

"This is your first time out drinking right?"

Xiao looked to the side to see Childe grinning down at him, both hands in his pockets. Xiao just rolled his eyes and looked back forward.

"Yes. I don't drink at all in general. But I have had alcohol before. My memories of it weren't pleasant." Xiao grumbled a response as they neared the doors. The music got loud and clear for a few moments and Zhongli pushed them open and disappeared behind.

"hmm. Well don't let that deter you from drinking. Let loose man! Have fun. I don't think Venti will let you have an alcohol free night anyway... Shit gets crazy" he winked at Xiao before he too pushed open the doors dramatically and dragged Xiao inside.

Xiao tried to twist his arm free of Childes hand but it proved impossible. Childe had an iron grip on him, yet it didn't hurt thankfully.

The ginger pulled Xiao through a crowd of drunken morons, not saying sorry at all as he more or less roughly shoved a few people out their way.

Quicker than he had expected Childe gave him one last tug forward and they both came out of the crowd, much to Xiao's delight. He looked around and took in the sight of the bar. It was covered with colourful LED's that made it look pretty cool, he'll admit. Behind the bar on the wall was a display of many alcoholic drinks, making Xiao realise just how many types of alcohol there were, it slightly amazed him.

He quickly spotted Zhongli and Venti, who were sat at the far corner of the bar. Venti seemed to be chatting with the bartender. Him and Childe quickly approached the Duo.

Childe quickly snatched the seat beside Zhongli, so Xiao had no choice but to sit beside Venti. He didn't mind it much, but he would have liked to sit beside Zhongli. As he dropped himself down on the chair Venti turned to him so quickly that he was almost hit by Ventis braids.

"Xiao! I'm so glad you came!" Venti smiled at him widely.

"Oh... really?" he grumbled a response, resting his crossed arms on the bar counter.

"Mmmhm!~ I haven't had a chance to drink with you yet, and I was sure you wouldn't come. So it's a nice surprise to have you here." Venti said in a sing-song voice, gently nudging Xiao to the side with little force.

Xiao was barely faced by the light nudge, casting his gaze on the wooden counter below him. He already wanted to go home, the loud music making his slightly pointed ears ache slightly.

"Ah! Bartenderrr!~" Venti called out and waved as the red haired worker made his way to the group.

"Venti." His voice was deep yet soft.

Xiao took a few seconds to get the man's looks in his mind. He was quite tall, his long silky red hair pulled back into a high ponytail that cascaded to the back of his neck. He wore a white shirt and a black suit vest that had been decorated with some small golden patterns along the bottom rim. He had matching trousers and a belt which had a golden chain hanging from it decoratively.

"Heeellloo Diluc!" Venti leaned forward, propping his head up in his hand.

Ah, so Venti knew him? He supposes it's not too surprising, he's probably a consistent regular here.

"What can I get for you and your friends?" Diluc cast glances at the group around Venti. He could easily recognise Childe and Zhongli, but Xiao was new to him of course, though he could tell Xiao wasn't the talkative type so he did not engage in a conversation.

Xiao stayed quiet as everyone ordered their drinks, and as it came to his turn he froze up slightly. Ah, he had no idea of the options or what would be best... He didn't know what else to do so he cast a desperate glance in Venti's direction.

Thankfully to Xiao, Venti caught the look and spoke up for him. Venti ordered something that sounded quite fruity. He could only hope it wasn't too alcoholic.

'Diluc' nodded and walked away to prepare the drinks, the faint clatter of glasses clinking together following soon after.

"What did you-"

"Oh don't worry" Venti quickly cut him off "This one doesn't contain much alcohol... Well, not by my standards" He flashed Xiao a cheeky grin that only resulted in his face mysteriously heating up. Why?...

"Oh. Well, uh. Thank you." He rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"Venti, are you antagonising Xiao?" Zhongli's leaned against the counter as he peered at the two short men, an eyebrow raised.

"Ehhh?! Nooo! So mean." Venti huffed and stuck his tongue out at the man.

"Oh relax Zhongli, let them flirt in peace~-" Childe chimed in, placing one hand on Zhongli's shoulder.

"What- We weren't-!" Xiao glared at Childe with such intensity.

"Your drinks." Dilucs voice cut through the conversation, much to Xiao's relief.

Diluc handed out the different drinks swiftly, not spilling a single drop on the counter.

"Enjoy." And he quickly left to tend to other customers.

"Thanks Diluc!" Venti and Childe called out in unison, waving the man off.

Xiao watched as Venti wasted no more time before he picked up his glass and took a big long sip, being careful not to get any on himself though. He ended up staring at him for longer than he meant and he quickly turned towards his own drink sitting in front of him.

It was a bright red colour, slightly shimmering and swirling. There were 3 ice cubes that bobbed slightly up and down at the surface. It didn't look all that bad, but looks can be deceiving.

A quick glance to the side he could see Venti had drunk at least half of his own, and Childe and Zhongli were also starting to drink their own drinks. Heaving a sigh, he picked up the slender, cold glass and raised it up to his face. The scent was also quite pleasant, the familiar smell of strawberries and a slight hint of sunsettias. He pressed the cool glass to his lips and tilted it up, allowing the liquid to flow freely into his mouth. He tipped it back forward and closed his mouth as he examined the taste.

He could strongly taste the flavour of strawberry, which was followed by the zang of the sunsettias. The scent wasn't misleading at all, it really did taste pretty good. He could just faintly taste the sour alcohol which was mixed up into it. He swallowed and he could feel the slight burn of the alcohol in his throat, it wasn't a terrible feeling, he supposed...

Xiao turned his head to peer back at his friends, pleased to see they were all still beside him, but surprised to see there was another. There was a tall and slender man leaning on the counter between both Zhongli and Venti. His back faced Zhongli as he talked with Venti, staring down at the man with a fond expression, and Venti seemed to share the same fondness as he reached up, patting the stranger on the shoulder. He wasn't sure why but seeing Venti so close with a stranger made him slightly upset, or well.. Angry? He doesn't know how to explain the feelings clearly. His heart ceased in his chest as he watched as the man leaned down to Venti, but got a wave of relief as the man only whispered in the shorter's ear, nothing more... Damn it Xiao, what is with you today? Why do you care?

Xiao must have not realised he was staring because sooner or later he found himself in a mini staring contest with the stranger and felt a growing awkwardness in his chest.

"So Ven, who's your little friend?" The use of such a nickname brought back that terrible sour feeling...

"Ah! Xiao!" Venti turned his head to gaze at him with a cheerful expression. Even though he'd drunk so much of his, probably alcoholic as all hell drink, he seemed pretty sober.

"Hm." Was Xiao's only reply.

"Xiao, hm? Well, nice to meet you." The slender figure held out a hand past Ventis shoulder, outstretched towards Xiao.

"And you are?" Xiao only cast a look at the hand, making no move to return the gesture.

"Kaeya." Seeing as Xiao had no intent of shaking his hand, he let it drop back to his side.

Kaeya, hm? The man was tall as mentioned prior, maybe the same height as the bartender Diluc. Kaeya had long blue hair that flowed past his shoulder in front of his chest, ending in a faintly lighter colour. He wore something sorta similar to Zhongli's own attire, being a loose bedazzled shirt that was only buttoned up a quarter of the way, exposing a good portion of his tanned chest. He also wore tight skinny jeans with a belt and a chain similar to Diluc also.

"I work here at the bar, just to watch out for anyone getting a bit too out of hand." Kaeya explained, making small gestures with his hand. "Which is how I got to know Ven so much."

"Eh! Oh please, most of those times weren't entirely my fault!" Venti tried to defend himself, to try to save his reputation in front of Xiao. Which really didn't matter, as he'd get to see first hand how Venti is drunk.

"Well well, I have a club to watch over, don't get too drunk." Kaeya gave Venti a flick on the forehead before wandering off, disappearing into the crowd of drunkards.

"Ow!" Venti whined as he watched Kaeya drift away before slowly turning to Xiao. "I-"

"I don't like him..." Xiao muttered and leaned back in his chair

"UAhh? Why not? He's a good guy!" Venti tried his best to defend Kaeya.

"I don't know. Just don't..." Xiao wasn't sure what, but something just didn't sit right with him about Kaeya... like that odd feeling he got when he fussed over Venti. Ugh whatever.

"Ah... Hopefully your mind will change over time!" Venti raised his glass and took another long sip before placing it back onto the bar.

"Do you not like what I chose? You have only taken a single sip!" Venti motioned to Xiao's abandoned glass.

"Ah- uhm-" He cleared his throat." No, I do. It's actually pretty good... so, thanks. I guess."

"Oh, i'm glad" Venti smiled at him, seemingly proud of himself.

Xiao gave a nod in response and turned himself back forward, picking up his previously forgotten drink and taking another slow sip of it., savouring the strawberry flavour.

Skip to maybe 3 and a half hours later and things were really starting to kick off. Zhongli and Childe were visibly drunk. Zhongli rambled some nonsense to Childe who drunkenly argued back at him, insisting penguins were not birds because they couldn't fly! Venti had disappeared a few minutes ago. Xiao didn't bother to ask where since he just up and left with his 7th or something drink in hand.

"Childe, Penguins are birds!" Zhongli facepalmed, swaying slightly in his seat as Childe hit the table in drunken frustration beside him.

"NO! They can't FLY! Birds FLY!" He continued to insist, aggressively shaking his head.

"They lay eggs, Ajax!" Zhongli groaned and leaned forward in despair.

"Soo do platypuses! They aren't birds though!"

"That's different.."

"HOW IS IT-"

That's when Xiao decided he was done listening to them. He glanced around the room for any signs of Venti at all. Eventually he spotted him dancing drunkenly with a few strangers in a rather... strange fashion. Xiao was momentarily mesmerised by the way Venti moved before he quickly snapped himself out of it and took a long sip of his drink to distract himself. He himself was only on his 3rd drink, and he still felt like he was completely sober, he thinks. He hasn't noticed a change himself anyway.

A quick glance back to the dance floor he noticed Venti had disappeared from his view. He found himself looking around to spot the aqua dressed drunkard. He turned to the side in his chair, almost screaming as he came face-to-face with Venti.

"Whhhhhatcha lookin forr?" Ventis' words were slurred and his stance was visibly unstable. His cheeks tinted red from the alcohol in his system.

Xiao was momentarily rendered speechless as he stared at Venti's face before he let out a quiet 'tsk' and looked away.

"Nothing. Nothing here catches my attention." That wasn't entirely true...

"Waaannna come dance with meee~?" Venti giggled slightly and held his hand to Xiao, but that itself threw him off balance and he stumbled forward into Xiao's chest. He only giggled more.

Xiao's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the drunken man before him, feeling his face slowly begin to heat up, his heart beating rapidly in his chest. He raised his hands slightly at his sides, not knowing what the hell he should do.

Thankfully, Venti corrected himself and stood straight again. One hand resting on Xiaos leg as he pushed himself away.

"PfffF- sooorrrrry Xiaao, accident!" He shook his head and continued to stumble backwards and forward before he became slightly stable again.

"Whatever. Be more careful." Xiao scoffed. How was this man just dancing out there but here he's a stumbling mess?? He will never understand...

"Myy offer still standsss!" Venti leaned forward towards Xiao, one hand gripping the bar counter

"No." Xiao answered dead-panned.

"Eh?!.. Awwwwww~..." Venti frowned at the response but didn't push on "Fiiinnnee" And with that Venti waltzed away once more to dance.

Xiao sighed to himself and swivelled around in his chair. Oh how bad of an idea that was. He got a face full of Childe and Zhongli mid-make out. Oh how he wished he could erase that from his memory.

Without thinking he quickly stood up and walked away, leaving his drink there on the bar. He pushed through into the crowd. Luckily he didn't seem as packed as earlier, a lot of people had left or settled down at the bar or in booths.

He was already starting to feel uneasy with the amount of people surrounding him, but he'd rather deal with his than watch those bastards eat eachother's faces. Ew. Just thinking about it made him shiver.

A few pushes and shoves later he finally caught a glimpse of Venti and quickly made a break for it. Maybe if he was with someone he knew he'd feel more at ease.

When he got to him, Venti was dancing with some equally drunk guy, who was practically all over Venti. A large hand resting on Venti's hip, his chest pressed to Venti's back. That feeling arose again in Xiao's chest and he scowled slightly. He didn't even think about it, his body seeming to act on his own accord as he reached forward, grabbing hold of Venti's slim wrist and quickly dragging him away to somewhere else in the crowd.

Behind him he could hear Venti let out a slurred sound of surprise, and what he could only assume was the guy letting out a faint 'hey!' but luckily he didn't come after them, archons knew what he'd do if he did.

He just kept dragging Venti through the seemingly endless crowd, ignoring his confused yelling and slightly muffled 'oofs' whenever he was bumped by someone accidently. Soon they came to a wall that barely anyone was at, a few people leaned against it chatting, some on the floor blacked out.

Letting out a breath he hadn't realised he was holding, he let go of Venti's wrist, turning to face the poor man. Venti was staring at Xiao in confusion, his hair slightly messy and his braids a bit loose. His face slightly blushed and the disco lights of the party around them reflected beautifully in his eyes. Wait what? Xiao stop thinking like that!

"Xiaaao? Whyd you drag me aaawwaaaay?" He pouted slightly, but he wasnt really mad "Here to take me up on my offer?"

"No." Xiao was definitely NOT dancing. He didn't even know how... "I just didn't want to third wheel Childe and Zhongli any longer..." Again, he shivered. Just the mention of them made that cursed image of them making out flash in his mind.

"Awwww bummmerrr~.." Venti stumbled slightly again. Xiao couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. He dragged Venti away for seemingly no reason.

"Uh. Sor-" He was cut off when Venti stumbled forward into him.

Xiao was pushed back against the wall, Venti pressed up against him with his hands laid on Xiaos chest. Xiao again felt his face become hot and his mind became a muddled frantic mess, his heart picking up the pace.

"W-what- Venti-" Xiao couldn't believe he just STUTTERED. What has gotten into him? Maybe it was just the alcohol. Yeah. Definitely. Absolutely. Totally.

"Uuah.. Sorrrryy.. Accident again..." Venti giggled and tilted his head to face Xiao.

His breath caught in his throat as he stared at Venti, their faces incomprehensibly close. He could feel Venti's breath hit his face. All he could smell was alcohol. Everything around them seemed to fade away as they stared into eachothers eyes. The blaring music became muffled in his ears and the dancing lights dimmed. Xiao was completely lost in Venti's bright eyes.

Without even realising he did so, Xiao's arms wrapped around the other, his hands coming to rest at the bottom of Venti's back, keeping him close. Venti raised one of his hands and pressed it against the side of Xiao's face.
