It was around 9 o'clock. A full moon casted in my window hovering over the forest. I stayed up on my laptop researching everything I could find about Mr. Lemp. I was researching him for almost 2 hours. After a fresh meal of tacos in my system, I didn't have to worry about waking up my family for a late night snack with the creaky floorboards.
As far as I could look up, his name is Andrew Kennedict Lemp. He was born November 16, 1970. He graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He became a writer of horror when he was 13 years old. Because of his wealthy family history, he was able to speak with a lot of productions and companies to make his work known. All was blank from there.
"Shit..." I gave a deep sigh, ready to have close my laptop and call it a night. A Skype call rung. Waking back up, a smile on my face. I placed on earbuds sitting up against my bed. I responded to the call.
"Missy!" Her voice shouted.
"Carol! You made my heart drop!" I laughed.
"I told you I was gonna call you! Don't you ever believe me?"
"After all you do? It's hard to believe you." I smiled.
"Don't you love me?" She smiled shrugging her shoulder, looking the other way.
We gave a few laughs.
"So how's Vagina treating you?"
"Uh..Virginia."
"I know what I said."
I chuckled. "It-it- it's great. Really it is. It's quiet out here though."
"Different from city life?"
"Very different."
"Well, who knows? Hopefully you can come to visit whenever you get the freedom to. Maybe buy some tickets, say hi to some friends? It's really different without you here. We can't even mess around town without looking at that one empty seat in my car...We miss you, girl."
"I miss you guys too..I promise I'm gonna find some way to come back to you guys. This isn't goodbye."
"It feels like it. What if you can't keep your promise?"
"Have I ever let you down?"
"WELL, there was that one time in Principle Broly's office--"
"You know what I mean!"
She chuckled. "Yeah, yeah I do."
"You guys are my #1. I'm not letting you guys go."
"I'm coming after you if you do."
"Promise?"
"With my life. It was good hearing your voice again, Sam."
"You too, Carol."
"Same time tomorrow?"
"I don't know. I'm going to a party tomorrow night."
"Oh, shit! Missy's already got her squad!" She began cheering.
"No, no." I laughed. "I did meet two people around here but my Dad got that job he was telling everyone about and his "boss", so to speak, invited all the neighbors to his house."
"Holy shit, he got the job. He wasn't kidding. AND he invited everyone? Now I wish I was there. I need to blow off some steam."
"But...I'm sketchy about it."
"Why?"
"This guy just invites everybody to a party with no heads up whatsoever? What if he's planning to like, rob us or something? Take all our homes why don't you, since he's so "wealthy.""
