The trail was dark. Tiny lit lights on the ground leading the way towards the home in the ominous wooded forest. A bit of moonlight assisting the way as the cars followed one another in a single file line. The ride was quiet. My eyes focusing on the full moon casted over the forest. Only the muffled sound of the tires crushing against the dirt filling eardrums.
"So, what do you guys expect?" Mom asked looking into the rearview mirror. "Will there be games?" Jared asked. "Will there be games?" "Sam.." Mom said, noticing my mocking. "And yes Jared, there will be games." She smiled. "Oh, cool! I hope I see kids my age, that way I can show them all the cool games I have!" Mom looked to me.
"...Sam..?" I looked to her. "Your thoughts?" "Sketchy.." I told crossing my arms looking back out the window. "And why do you think that?" "We don't know who this guy could be, Mom. What if he's just some creep with a lucky break? Some fraud? Or some fucking nut trying to kill us?" "Samantha Falliard, that is enough!"
Sitting back in my seat, I crossed my arms once again. "Get asked my thoughts, gets yelled at. Beautiful." I could feel Jared's eyes looking onto me, before he turned his attention towards the sudden lights ahead of us. "We're here!" Leaning ahead at the window, I gazed astonished, yet a bit terrified at the sight. "Are you kidding me..?"
The house's size looked as if we ourselves were nothing but toy cars assuming hundreds of feet high. The house was the darkest of green with orange lights coming from all of the windows. A large open field for cars to park in. Alesse waiting for me standing beside the stairs. "Oh! There's Alesse. I'll see you guys later." I said running out the car. "Sam! Can I park the car first?!" Mom called out.
"Alesse!" I called out. Watching as she turned to me, I smiled to her as she was dressed in an all black dress that revealed only her left shoulder. Her hair styled curly covering her right eye. Adjusting her black gauges, I stepped to her. "Hey, Missy! You made it." She greeted. "Yeah, I got your text. You weren't kidding about this house. Place is fucking huge." She replied.
"Alesse!" A female voice called out. Turning my back, a couple approched us. A fairly skinned woman in a dark green dress and heels, her hair in a bun with two curly bangs extending down holding onto a man in a sharp red tux, with a red rose in his breast pocket. They looked in their early twenties as Alesse walked to them.
"One sec. Missy, these are my parents." The woman shook my hand. "Mariah." She smiled. "Lawrence, pleasre." The man did the same, smiling to me. "Sam, but everyone calls me Missy. You guys look great! I thought you were a teenage couple for a sec." "Well now I know I look good" Mariah and us laughed. "Thank you though, honey. We get that a lot. We keep our diets well."
"Oh and Alesse, make sure you don't go wanderin' off. Eyes like a hawk, you hear?" Lawrence said pointing to his eyes, then hers. "Oh would you leave the girl alone? Let the girls have some fun." "I know, I know. I'm just messin' with her." He replied.
"Oh, by the way. How's Zeke doing?" I asked Mariah. "Oh, you met Zeke?" "Yeah, I met him yesterday, he told me everything with his parents." "Oh, he's doing fine. We left him with some movies to watch and some snacks to eat. If he needed anything, he'll give one of us a call." She pointed to Lawrence and Alesse. "So make sure your phones are charged."
"Yes ma'am." Alesse replied. "Alright, have fun, girls!" Mariah waved as they walked away. "Your parents are nice." "Oh, trust me, they're hell when they're away from people. Angels one day, bitches the next. Oh, speaking of parents..."
Turning back again, my Mom approached the doorstep, with Jared right beside her. "Can't let you off for one second, can't I?" "Sorry Mom. Uh, Mom, this is Alesse, my new friend." "Well, pleasure to meet you, hon." "Hello." Alesse nervously waved. "Anyway, we'll be inside. Come in, it's getting cold."
