It has been quite time since Naofumi acquired the slaves-slash-helpers.

As of late, he had reached level 10, while Raphtalia and Lucas respectively level 5. Half his level.

He should be impressed that they manage to catch up faster. Delved deeper into the forest does rewards them with different monsters and heftier reward than the ones at edge of forest. Smarter ones do stay away from Hunting Field that was outer forest.

But it was not enough.

Not even close.

Those three spoiled brats probably had left him in the dust. Adventuring, gaining level and materials oh so easily while raking money and PR. Naofumi has little care for the last one, but the other three, exp, money, and material, that, he cares about.

The enemies here, aside from giving piss poor exp, is of that and that type. Overspecialization is bad.

It was time to branched out.

But first business first,

"Was the armor ready?"

He needs new armor for himself. Just because so far, he hasn't bleeding yet, it was just matter of time. He was not Immovable Object just yet. And even if he does, blunt trauma is a thing.

"Yup. Try these on."

And Naofumi changes himself into the armor. It was green and silver, to match the shield. Such a... Slytherin Color.

Well, someone from his world makes joke that Naofumi would make splendid Slytherin if only he was more ruthless.

And he now had become ruthless.

"I call it Barbarian Armor!" Erhard declared, proud.

Had it been under any other circumstances, crosshairs would pop on Naofumi's head. A hero wore something befitting thugs? For real?! And yet, Naofumi's lips quirked up. Amused at the irony.

"At least the fur would keep me warm during night." Focus on the good thing.

~Growl~

Hearing the increasingly familiar noise, Naofumi sighed and threw a bag of bread to the kids. He had become very proficient to differentiate types of growl. There's growl of wild animal, and there's growl of stomach asking to be filled. The latter, was practically alarm clock.

"Please tell me that wasn't normal."

"Well, they are Demi-Humans. They need tons of food, especially now that they leveled up."

"...explain to me in layman terms as if I'm someone who doesn't know common sense of this world, because I am not from this world and thus doesn't get the common sense here."

"Demi-human grows up according to their level." Erhard explained. "The higher they levels up, the faster they grow."

"So they get old really fast?"

"No kiddo. They will stop aging at their prime, or rather, they hit prime age and start aging like human does. Though some species, mostly the long-lived ones, does ages slower than human."

Ah. Good. Naofumi doesn't have to deal kid turned gray and wrinkly in matters of weeks. That would be weird, even for this world.

But wait, "If their level somehow gets reset, is that possible? Would they de-aged?"

"I don't know much about that, but resetting level does not equates to de-age to Demi-Human. I think?"

He thinks, Naofumi deadpanned, well, better be safer than sorry. "Anything else I need to know?"
