It's now Noah's first birthday and my parents have news. I don't know what it is but I will listen. I go get ready for the birthday. I pull on a dress and white vans. I curl my hair and do the lightest make up. I go downstairs and see Alec cooking sausages. I walk over and kiss his cheek. "Hi bubs" I said. We share a kiss and Nathan walks inside with Aviana.
We sit down and enjoy our meal. I help clean up before we head over to get the party set up. I smile when Sadie walks over to me. "Thank god your here, Ryan is being great but Noah needs help eating" said Sadie. I nod and we go get ready. We set everything up and wait for the guests. "What's up with mum and dad?" asked Sadie. I shrug. "No idea, they just said they have news" I said. "Right, once they wait till the party is over" said Sadie, smiling at Noah. "I hope they do" I said, pulling at my bracelet.
People are coming in now. Mum and dad walk in, smiling. I smile. Alec walks over and kisses me. Mum walks over. "Hi, you two look happy" said mum. We smile. "Yeah, we're happy!" I said. Alec smiles and rubs my back. They don't know a secret that me and Alec are carrying. We're telling them tomorrow.

I smile and soon after the party finishes, we help clean before dad and mum come over. "Noah's asleep, so we have to talk" said mum. We nod and everyone finds a seat. Me and Alec sit together. "So, we never did give you a proper answer or reasoning behind your arranged marriage and since we now can, we will" said dad. I frown and look at him.
"As you are aware, a new author Joan Reynolds was writing a book last year and I decided before she should release it this year, we should try an arranged marriage. So, I asked Caroline and she at first was confused but accepted since she knew it was for a good reason. So, we had you two married to see if you could fall in love with someone you barely know" said dad. I gasp and so does Alec. "Your telling me you got us married to see if we could fall in love for a book?" I ask. Dad nods. "Are you fucking serious? Yes, I am in love with Alec but I would've rather fell for him normally not while married! I do not understand your reasoning at all. What if this did not work?" I ask. "Then she would've released the second option for her arranged marriage book, a happy ending where they divorced and found true love" said dad. "I can't believe you. Mum, you should have stopped him! I don't regret marrying Alec because I am in love with him but I cannot believe you lied to us instead of just telling us the truth in the first place!" I said. Alec groans. "You tricked us but luckily we fell in love but this is stupid! Me and Cassie are going home, we're tired" said Alec. We leave and go to our room. We pull on pyjama's and lie down.
"This doesn't change how I feel about you, Alec. I just.... I was upset he didn't just tell us" I said. "Same here, but I guess then it wouldn't have given us a chance to fall in love knowing it was an experiment" said Alec. "I guess, let's sleep. Tomorrow is a big day!" I said. We share a kiss and fall asleep.
And wow, they know why they were arranged to marry!
