"What do you mean?" I asked worrying that they had found out about the alcohol.
"We know that you and a boy have been underage drinking and have been selling drinks to kids at your school," Will said with his face filled with total disappointment.
"Your lying, I have never drank alcohol before and I am definitely not selling it," I said trying my best to put on a convincing confused voice.
"Emma, we can either have this conversation here or in an interrogation room with your hands cuffed to the table," Jay said and by the sound of his voice, I could tell he was fuming. I didn't respond and just looked down at my feet.
"EMMA CONFESS OR I CAN GET VOIGHT DOWN HERE AND TRUST ME HE IS PISSED ASWELL!" Jay shouted.
"Okay, okay fine! I've been drinking and may have been selling drinks as well!" I replied hoping they wouldn't ask why I'd been drinking.
"Why were you drinking Emma?" Will said calmly. 'Oh, shit' I thought to myself.
"Because it looked fun," I said unconvincingly.
"Really, that's the best you've got?" Jay huffed.
"You won't get it okay!" I exclaimed as I ran up the stairs to my room and slammed the door.
"Oh no she doesn't" I hear Jay say and then I hear my door barge open.
"What the fuck do you want!" I asked annoyed that he wouldn't leave me alone.
"First of lose the attitude, secondly, you don't just get to come in here, admit to drinking and selling drinks, and expect to get away with it. I am only here and not a patrol car because Voight said he wanted me to be the one to arrest you so get up." Jay said.
"You can't be serious!" I exclaimed.
"I'm dead serious now get up, turn around and put your hands behind your back," Jay said with a look on his face saying that I shouldn't ignore him.
"YOU'RE BEING CRAZY JAY!" I shouted.
"No, what's crazy is a 14-year-old selling alcohol and drinking alcohol. That's what crazy Emma!" Jay exclaimed angrily.
"Now get up," Jay said. I didn't move.
"Fine, have it your way," Jay said as he got out his phone and left the room. I knew he was going to call Voight and honestly, I was scared of what Voight was going to do as I am practically family to him. I closed my eyes and let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. I wish I didn't get into this mess. Then I wouldn't be here right now. I shouldn't have listened to that stupid Jason! Before I could finish scolding myself for being so stupid, my door barged open.
"Listen Emma, this is your last chance to tell us what's going on. Jay just called Voight and he will be here in 5 minutes so unless you want him to shout at you even more than he has already planned to tell me what's happening." Will said.
"You won't understand," I said as I laid back in bed and faced the wall. I then heard footsteps and the door close behind me. I don't know how long I was zoned out for but I supposed it was around 5 minutes as the next thing I heard was the front door open and Voight saying "where is she?" I then heard feet coming up the stairs and then my door opened. I saw a pissed looking Voight staring at me. I have seen Voight angry before but never this angry. It scared me.
"Heyyyy Hank," I said trying to ease the tension in the atmosphere.
"Ever since you became a criminal, you have lost the privilege to call me Hank, now get up," Voight said.
"Or what?" I said not caring about the consequences.
"I'm going to count to 3, if you are not off that bed in 3 seconds, you don't want to know what will happen," Voight said ignoring my question. I contemplated getting up or staying still. All I wanted was for this whole thing to go away. How did they even find out about the drinking anyway? I decided that I would have to get up if I didn't want to end up in a hospital by the end of the day. I slowly got up out of my cozy bed and stood in front of Voight and Jay.
"Turn around," Voight said looking me dead in the eye. I reluctantly turned around. I then felt cold metal being slapped onto my wrists tightly. I was then led out of the house in handcuffs and into Voight's car. A few minutes later, I heard arguing so I looked out the window.
"JAY YOU'RE OFF THE CASE, YOU'RE TOO CLOSE TO THIS!" I heard Voight shout to Jay. I then saw Jay walk back into the house and close the door. Great, I was now stuck in a car alone with a pissed Voight. I wondered if I would even make it to the station or if he would kill me before we get there. I then heard the door open and saw Voight get in. He gave me a mad glare in the mirror and started the drive to the station. I was thinking if I should say anything to him and then I decided to say something to hopefully make him less mad.
"Look Voight, it wasn't my idea okay? I was just having a had time and then someone suggested drinking so I tried it," I told Voight trying to dig myself out of the hole I dug.
"Save it for the station," Voight said bluntly. I leaned my head against the window and watched all the normal people go along with their lives. Soon, we arrived at the station and Voight lead me up to an interrogation room. I knew that one of the intelligence members would probably come and speak to me soon and I just hoped it wasn't Adam or Antonio as they were the most protective over me. After what felt like an eternity, I heard the door open. I turned around to look who it was and saw Antonio and Adam coming in. Perfect I thought to myself slumping back in my seat.
"What were you thinking Emma!" Antonio began.
"I wasn't okay," I said with an attitude, already done with this day. I hoped that Adam was calmer than Antonio otherwise I was done for.
"Emma look at me," Adam stated thankfully much calmer than Antonio. I just kept my gaze on the floor.
"LISTEN TO HIM," Antonio yelled. I lifted my head up so I was looking at Adam.
"How did you even get into this mess, Emma?" Adam said concerned.
"It started a few months back, I was having a hard time, and this boy in my class said that drinking helps. So I started to drink with him every other day in an abandoned warehouse. Soon after that, we started selling some drinks to other people. I'm sorry okay?" I admitted deciding that it would be best to just tell them the truth.
"What's this boy's name?" Adam asked.
"Jason," I mumbled just wanting to go home.
"Jason what?" Antonio questioned, I wasn't sure who was madder, Antonio or Voight.
"Jason Lincon," I said. averting my gaze back down to the floor.
"Okay, sit tight," Adam said before he and Antonio left the room.
