It had been weeks since her mother's burial and Amara was ready for a new chapter.
On her couch was a wrapped gift and on the center table was an invite. She looked warmly at the gift and with a  smile as she unwrapped it. She chuckled as she held a toy car in her hands.
" Mom.."
She placed the gift beside her newly earned award . Pausing for a minute to admire both.
She took in a deep breath and picked up the invite.
Tracing her fingers across the  card she read out happily.
" Temilola Weds Henry"

This was the happy ending she had always wanted, her mother might not be here to share these moments of joy with her but she was certain she would always be around watching with that bright smile on her face .

    Endnote.
It's been months already since I began this book. My first horror-thriller work. I am pleased to announce that this won't be the last. It has been a delight creating this piece of art and I duly hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to like and share it really goes a long way.
Thank you.
Also the re-written and edited version is available on Okada books.
