Chapter Fifteen.

Charlie:
James falls silent and Nick and I look at each other.

"SAY SOMETHING!" We both mouth to him.

I grab his phone and put it on speaker as James finally opens his mouth.

"Hey, it's James; from Nick's party; Charlie's brother; Nick's friend; their matchmaker --"

Erin laughs as Nick and I slam our hands to our heads.

"I was going to stop you after "James" but I also wanted to see how many terms you had to describe yourself," she says.

James laughs nervously.

"How are you?"
"I'm okay. Sunday, so school tomorrow which sucks but what can you do, right?"
"Tell me about it AND I was so bored all day because naturally, Charlie ditched me for Nick."
"Charlie wanted to hang out with his boyfriend? How dare he," she says sarcastically as Nick and I do our best not to laugh.

James shoots us an angry look before continuing.

"Right? After all I've done for him!" James jokes. "Well I was wondering if you were free next weekend."
"What did you have in mind?" She asks.
"Haven't thought that far ahead yet, to be honest," he says as he scratches the back of his head, nervously laughing.

She laughs as well.

"I'll tell you what, how about you make the trip over here, and I'll plan something for us to do. I mean, it's only fair since I came there last time. Maybe Nick and Charlie can come into town with you and then later on we can go off and do our own thing."

James and Nick both look at me and I quickly realize that this decision clearly falls on me because I'm still not out. BUT, I would be in a town where no one knows me, where I have no family. It might be nice to see what it would be like to be a normal couple outside. I look at them both and nod my head. James and Nick both jump joyfully.

"Yeah, that sounds good!"
"Okay, text me during the week and we'll set up a time and things like that. Oh and James?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm glad you called," she says.

James smiles widely.

"Me too. Have a good night."
"You too. Also, goodnight Nick and Charlie," she says as she laughs. "You guys are not very good at keeping quiet," she says as she hangs up.

James lets out a sigh of relief.

"I don't think I've ever seen you get this nervous over someone," I say.
"I have no idea why I get so nervous," he says.
"Because Erin is the best girl you'll ever get," Nick teases.
"You're probably not wrong," James says. "Okay, I'll let you two alone for your goodbyes again before Mum and Dad get home. Goodnight Nick!"
"Night James," Nick says as he shakes his head laughing.

I look at Nick as he places my forehead against mine.

"I wish I didn't have to go home," he confessed.
"I wish you didn't either. I really had the best weekend," I say.
"Honestly, I'm a little surprised you agreed to go with James and I next weekend."
"Honestly? So was I. But, I figure if I wanted to try and see a life where I was out, maybe out of town, away from everyone who knows me or who would judge me, this would be it."

Our lips collide as he wraps his arms around me with me slightly pushing him into the door.

"See you tomorrow?" I ask, still breathless.
"Back in the real world," he says. "Just know that anytime I look at you tomorrow, I'm imaging doing this," he says as he kisses me again. "Goodnight, Charlie Spring."

He opens the door, walks out a little, turns around and faces me again. He waves.

"Goodnight Nick Nelson," I say as I wave back.
