Ah what a lovely Sunday, Crunchy couldn't help but think, as he stares out the window of his parent's manor.

He could've been doing anything else in the world, but instead, he's stuck helping his pops do chores around the house.

He promised the man he will come to visit on his off day, just to hang around for a bit. Though of course, his pops had his own idea of hanging out.

"Chipy could you help me out with the dishes once you're done?"

Crunchy chip sighs, placing down the duster in his hands. He makes his way over to the kitchen, standing directly by vanilla's side. He then peers at the sink, which barely had any dishes in it.

"Uh pops, are you sure you need help with these?"

The man next to him smiles, " Ah no not really, I just wanted to see my son's lovely face."

Crunchy chip groans as Pure vanilla chuckles.
"Aw come on chipy, can't a father miss his son?"

"Yes," Crunchy responds, "but you are going to be seeing me for the whole day!"

Pure vanilla solely shrugs, handing Crunchy a dish to rinse off.

"I don't see the problem. You and Caramel rarely ever visit since you left the nest. And it gets pretty lonely around here... especially with your father at work."

Crunchy chip hums as he drys off the dish with a towel, placing it in the dish rack.

"I..." vanilla pauses mid-sentence as if he were thinking, " I guess I wish I could go back to when you were all children when the three of you would be running around making a mess of the house. Oh lord, you kids were so energetic, it drove your father mad."

Pure vanilla laughs, though it wasn't as cheery as the ones before. Crunchy could tell the ambiguous implications of choco were irking him.

"I... just wish we were all together again."

Crunchy chip bites his lip, not sure what to add. Maybe he should just, console the man?

Though before he could even utter a word Pure vanilla quickly changes the subject.
"Anyways, you never told me how your first day of work went!"

Crunchy chip cringes at the thought, " um, it was... good."

"Oh, that's wonderful! Don't spare me the details."

A half-hearted sigh leaves Crunchy as he continues, " um... my coworkers are decent... well one of them. We're only in the training stages right now, so I don't know when wildberry is going to put us on a mission."

"Ah, wildberry? I haven't seen That boy in ages." Pure vanilla adds.

Wait.

"Pops you KNOW Wildberry?!"

The man laughs as he hands Crunchy chip another dish, "Of course I do, he was always by Hollyberry's side. He was so tiny when I last saw him, I think he was at least ten."

As much as the news shouldn't be that shocking, Crunchy still finds himself shocked, "wow... um well, what was he like?"

"Oh he was a quiet thing, he never really spoke unless spoken to."

Crunchy chip nods.

"You should tell him I said hi when you go back to work! Or maybe I could even visit you guys there sometime."

Crunchy chip huffs as he places another dish in the dishrack, " I don't know, we aren't that friendly yet- heck he doesn't even know you're my dad!"

Pure vanilla turns to Crunchy, " Oh then I should set up a reunion with Hollyberry! I'm sure she'd appreciate seeing everyone again."

Crunchy chip frowns, "I'm pretty sure we can check up on her with call."

Pure vanilla shakes his head with a laugh, " Oh nonsense, seeing someone in person means much more."

Crunchy chip could feel a wave of dread flow through his body, " is wildberry going to be there?"

"Of course silly chipy."

Crunchy wishes he could simply vanish from existence. He couldn't see his superior outside of work, especially not after what happened yesterday."

He just wanted to throw all his troubles in a burning pile and pretended they never existed.

"Sure do what you want then." Crunchy mumbles.

Pure vanilla glances at him concerned. "Crunchy dear? Are you alright?"

Crunchy just nods his head, " Yeah I'll survive."

____

"YEAH, and he's planning to invite my supervisor too!"

Crunchy could hear Caramel Arrow's laughing on the other end of the phone.

"Wait, why is that a bad thing again?"

Crunchy groans loudly, "Caramel... because everything would be awkward, and then work would ALSO be awkward."

"I don't get it, weren't you just going on about how hot your supervisor was a week ago?" She asks

Crunchy flushes, luckily caramel can't see him, " uh... things got a bit complicated after yesterday."

"Well please do tell." Caramel muses.

"Okay... Sobasicallywehadthistraingsssignentwherewehavetoprotectadummyfromwildberryandwhenwedoingsaidassigmentitackledhimtothegroundandpinnedhimwithmytighsandstartedyellingabouthowhewasgoingeasyon-"

"Christ!" Carmel arrow interrupts, "I couldn't pick up like half of that y'know."

Crunchy sighs sinking back into his sheets, "look I just don't want to relive it okay, all you need to know is that it was embarrassing."

He could hear a pitying sigh from the other end, "aw poor you, if I could give you a sad pat I would."

Crunchy glares daggers at the phone, "shut up."

Caramel merely laughs, "Heh okay okay, but for real, you will survive Crunchy."

He gives a doubtful huff.

"No seriously, Wildberry doesn't sound like a person who would hold grudges for something so small."

"It wasn't small!" Crunchy adds

"Okay calm your tits, it's not that serious. Wildberry will probably consider this whole thing irrelevant by the time that reunion party with dad gets here."

Crunchy looks up to his ceiling in defeat. " Yeah sure... thanks for the wise words, mom."

Caramel snorts, "first off, we are all motherless, second, you're welcome."

Crunchy couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"You're hilarious."

He could feel her smug smile behind the phone.

"You know it!"
