Lost MHA

chapter 2

I opened my eyes to instantly shut them again. I wasn't expecting to be in such a bright white and light filled room. I slowly opened my eyes again and saw that the new room that I was in was a hospital room. I looked to my right to see a heart monitor and an iv tube, to my left there was a window overlooking the city on a very sunny day. I closed my eyes again and let out a sigh. Please don't let this be an illusion. I opened my eyes and started to lift myself up which hurt but I needed to move. I sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the bed and let out a sigh of relief.

I closed my eyes and smiled. I sat there for a minute not moving a muscle, but then froze when I heard the door open. My mind instantly went back to being in that dark room scared when he came back since I had no clue of what he was going to do to me. I slowly lifted my head and started to shake. I then blinked to see my dad with coffee. I let out a shaky sigh and smiled. "Hey dad." he stopped dead in his stacks and stared at me, he started moving forward, put his coffee down and wrapped his arms around me. I slowly wrapped my arms around him, relaxed and started to silently cry. My ears were pinned but my tail slowly moved side to side.

I don't know how long we stayed there but by the time I calmed down again the sun was shining into the window and a nurse came in holding papers. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." I slowly let go of my dad and rubbed my eyes ''n-no" I stammered. Dad moved back and looked at her, she started to walk closer. "I have your release papers here." She handed the papers to dad. He started to leaf through the papers. She then talked to me about going easy with my quirk, to not wear tight clothes, to not try to eat too much and to not scrub my back. After dad signed all the paper the nurse then said that I would be free to go home tomorrow. We both thanked her and she left.

"So tell me what's new?" I asked with a small smile. Hoping that he wouldn't ask me questions, I don't think I could deal with that right now. He got quiet and looked away, then he looked back at me with a shy smile. He started to talk about everything that happened but then stopped. "Katherine, there's something that I need to tell you, something important, and you might not like it." I nodded my head for him to continue even though I could smell that there was another scent on him and it wasn't female. He continued "Um well you see I have found someone new." He then lowered his head, his eyes not meeting mine. "Dad please look at me." he looked at me with a look of fear. "Dad, does he make you happy?" He gave me a shocked look that I knew that he wasn't talking about a female, he gulped but nodded "What's his name?" I asked. "Yamada Hizashi," I smiled. Yamada Hizashi and my dad were not only dating but were married.

"That's great! I'm so happy for you dad!" I jumped up and hugged him which was a bad idea but I was so happy for him. "It might be fun having two dads!" He then wrapped his arms around me and started to laugh. I chucked. "This will be a lot of fun." I gave him a tight hug. He relaxed even more and hugged me back. We stayed there for probably a good 10 minutes before he finally let go. "Would you like me to get anything for you? Like food or something to do?" I just shook my head "no thanks dad if you want you can go home I don't mind." I gave him a tired smile. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you tonight?" Chuckling I declined "go home dad I'll be here when you come in the morning." He was still unsure so I gave him another big hug and smile letting him know it was ok to leave me. After a little more convincing he finally headed out the door and wished me a good night. After I had to click the doorknob I dropped my smile and let out a deep sigh.

Tomorrow will be a crazy day as I laid back and stared at the ceiling. My eyes finally started to go heavy and I closed them not even trying to resist the urge to fall into the darkness, hoping and praying to whatever gods were out there to let me sleep one night, and to not be plagued with nightmares. And before I knew it I was fast asleep.

It felt so good to hold my girl again. I can't believe we finally got her back after 8 years. I was pretty much running to my car excited to get home to tell Hizashi the good news. She wasn't mad at us, she was actually excited to have another dad.

It was late enough where there was hardly any traffic on the roads. As I drove home I couldn't stop the feeling of pure and utter joy of getting my Katherine back and that she was excited to have more of a family.

As soon as I got home and parked I ran to the door. Once I was in I kicked off my shoes and put on my house slippers. I instantly made it to the kitchen where I found Hizashi preparing dinner. He had a smile on his face as he was humming some tunes to himself.

He soon noticed me, his face lit up as he looked at me with a smile "she said she was happy to have two dads!" I shouted which was something I usually don't do, I ran up and hugged him he hugged me back and started to laugh.

"Sho I want to show you something." Hizashi exclaimed. He pulled away and started walking out the room making sure that I was following him. We walked down the hallway and turned to what used to be a study. As he opened the door and walked in I stopped dead in my tracks as I looked around. "I remember when she was little she absolutely loved the colors blue and red and with her quirk being animal related I thought that this would be perfect. But of course if she doesn't like it then we can easily change it."

As I looked around I noticed all of the details, the room was now dark blue, little animals such as wolves, elk, horses, and other bigger animals along with trees that were painted on the walls in dark red. There was a queen size bed with a red comforter with blue designs with four pillows. On the wall above her bed was a moon cycle flag. And across from the bed against the wall there was a dark oak wood dresser that at the moment was empty. On top of it are a couple pictures of Katherine and me, one with pro hero Hawks and her when they were young and one with her childhood best friend Touya and her. In front of the window there was a desk with a chair with a phone box on top of it. I smiled and looked at Mike again "I bet she'll love it, and good news she gets to come home tomorrow. I was thinking maybe we could ask Midnight to take her shopping for clothes." I gave a sad chuckle to the last part.

He gave me a comforting smile and hugged me after that we went out of the room, closing the door again. We walked towards the kitchen and saw one of our newest additions being a little stray kitten. It was a black with a white chested male. Mike and I found him on the street. The poor thing was so tiny. Hopefully Katherine will like him, I thought as we walked into the kitchen and finished dinner.
