chapter 3

Katherine's pov

I woke up with a start, I slept through the entire night but as soon as I heard the door open I was wide awake. I could feel my body tense up as I started to shake having flashbacks. I closed my eyes tight as I heard footsteps coming close to my bed more into a rush. "Katherine, Katherine it's me dad it's ok you're safe." Dad said as he put his hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked at him and instantly regretted it, he looked so scared and worried. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath slowly letting it out. Calming myself down a little.

When I opened them again I looked straight into my dad's dark eyes. After a minute or 2 I got up and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I could still feel the adrenaline running through my body, "sorry dad..." I lowered my head ashamed that he saw that. He moved his hand to my shoulder once again "Katherine look at me please." As I did I saw that he was looking at me with so much love in his eyes as he gave me a reassuring smile "it's ok hun I understand. I have a question though." He said softly.

I nodded my head "if you want Nemuri (Midnight) wants to take you shopping for clothes and whatever you would like, would you like to go?" I sat there for a minute thinking. It might be fun... but I don't know if I can trust myself around so many people. I looked at my dad. He had hope in his eyes. I let out a small sigh and gave him a small smile "I'll go dad. When will she be here?" He smiled again, "she'll be here in about 15 minutes." That's when I froze for 15 minutes?!?! Oh gods I'm not ready!!! I jumped out of bed which scared dad "Katherine?! What's wrong??!!"

"If she'll be here in 15 minutes then I need to hurry and get ready!" I said back and ran into the bathroom taking a quick shower which wasn't the best of ideas but thank god I didn't slip as I got out I saw a pair of greens with a bra and underwear I quickly threw them on, and ran back out the door to find my dad holding a hairbrush. I smiled at him grabbing the hairbrush, thanked him and went back into the bathroom to brush my hair.

As soon as I was done with that I came back out and he had a toothbrush and toothpaste for me. I chuckled, grabbed them and thanked him again. I walked back into the bathroom and brushed my teeth this time when I came out of the bathroom Midnight was there waiting for me. "Hey auntie Nemuri!" I yipped and walked up to her and gave her a hug. She hugged me back laughing "it's good to see you again kid! Now are you ready to go shopping?!" She said with a smile and looked me in the eyes.

I gave her the best smile that I could muster which wasn't much but it made her happy. She then grabbed my hand and walked me out the room, and out of the hospital. Soon we were out and walking to her car she let go of my hand and unlocked the car, as she jumped in and I slowly clambered in and she started the car and we were off. We drove in silence for a while then she decided to turn on the music which I was very grateful for. As the music came on we listened to it and she jammed to it of course.

It was about 20 minutes or so until we made it to the mall, she then found a parking spot. She gave me a smile and I returned it with a thumbs up. She turned off the car and got out with me in tow, we walked to the front door and off we went to so many different shops.

As we got into the mall I stopped looking at all of the people, my body locking up. I started to breathe harder and faster, my vision flickering in and out. I grabbed my head covering my right eye, I could feel my body start to shake as I was trying to control my breathing, scared that my quirk would take over. As I stood there frozen I heard someone call my name a couple of times then felt a hand on my shoulder.

My body jerked back from the sudden contact, as I backed up I hit a wall, my hand still over my right eye I could feel that I was close to losing control.

My breathing started to slow back down and I dropped my hand. I let out a sigh and looked back at Nemuri. She looked worried and scared. I gave her a tired smile "sorry about that." she walked closer to me "if we need we can leave and do this another time." I shook my head "I'm ok I can do this." I said determinedly. She gave me a worried look but nodded. She then turned around and stuck out her hand for me to grab. I smiled and took her slender hand in mine and started waking.

Three hours later

I was still surprised that I was standing with how much shopping we were doing. We had bags both filling our arms from multiple different stores. About 10 of them were full of clothes with bags inside of them for clothes, then there were a few from Bath and body Works with perfumes and lotions and body soap etc. Then there were a couple bags that were just full of random stuff like books, sketchbooks, pencils, notebooks.

After we finally had enough shopping we walked back out to Midnight's car. We filled the back of the car and got in, as soon as we got seated she gave me a sad smile. "I had fun, thank you annuity Nemuri." I smiled at her, she chucked in response and then started the car. About 40 minutes later we got to dad's new home. There was a car out front, Midnight gave me a smile and helped me grab all the bags out of the car as we walked to the front door. The door opened to reveal my dad "so how did it go girls?"

"It went great!" I smiled. He thanked Nemuri and we left the bags at the front door. As Nemuri waved goodbye she gave me a hug whispering "I'm always here if you need to talk." I nodded against her hug and she let go. She waved to my dad and left.

"Well let me show you to your new room." He grabbed most of the bags while I got the rest. As we walked I saw the kitchen to the right and the living room to the left with a tv, sofa and chairs around a coffee table, then we were down the hall and he stopped at the first door, opened it then stepped back. As I walked in I couldn't help but smile. The room was amazingly decorated, I put the bags down and smiled while turning around and giving dad a hug "thank you so much dad." He hugged me back "don't thank me too much Hizashi was the one that did all of this." I said, I'll have to thank him later.

Dad walked in and put the bags down and turned to me "there's a new phone on the desk, the bathroom is right across, the next room to the right is mine and Hizashi room" I nodded to all he had to say "thank you dad but is it ok if I just get some sleep I'm really tired." I asked as I lowered my head. "Of course Katherine, whatever you need. But before I leave I wanted to ask if you still want to go to the U.A?" I smiled and nodded. He smiled. "The only thing is that you need to pass a test." I nodded and he gave me a quick hug and left. As soon as he closed the door I sat on my bed and looked at the wall deep in thought about everything that had happened.

After a while I got up and started to put things away, I brushed my hair again and changed into a red pair of sweatpants with a black tank top. Once I was done I went and grabbed the phone and sat on my bed starting to set it up.
