Chapter VIII - 30 Minutes

"Citizens of the world!" his voice resounded on every television screen and radio sets around the globe. "I know it's unforgiving to see your favorite shows forestalled but what I'm about to tell you is more dreadful than that. You may have heard from the news about the unfortunate hostage-taking crisis in the UN summit and an unidentified airship floating over New York City which kept the the airforce quite busy. Well, I am responsible for all these events and currently aboard that airship.

"You may have wondered about my identity but that is not relevant now. Well, you see, I have taken control over all nuclear weapons facility not just in United States but also in countries around the world. And at any given time I can order a nuclear strike to any city I wish.

I do not require anything from you. I wish only to inform you that in thirty minutes I will launch all active nuclear missiles at my disposal targeting all major cities around the world. However, I will not deny you the privilege of knowing the reason behind this heinous act. I sought to eliminate the cancer that continually destroys this world. And that cancer is you.

You only have thirty minutes left of your life, what will you do?"

The screen went black and a counter appeared that marked 29:59. Celestine was tied to a chair after she struggled to stop Jon from destroying the world. He was able to easily restrain her.  Celine reported a transmission from an unknown source. Jon opened it and the silhouettes of three persons appeared again.

"What are doing?!" Jupiter burst with anger. "Giving that message too early will definitely jeopardize the operation. The governments of the world will stop at nothing to bring down this airship."

"I've thought this through—"

"No, you didn't!" Jupiter interrupted. "You haven't yet received our signal.

Fortunately, all the members have arrived Olympus by the time you made that hasty and thoughtless move. In this operation, Cancer, we can't afford any mistakes like this. Or else—"

"Mistakes?" Jon laughed sarcastically. "No, I don't make mistakes Jupiter. Since the day I first joined your petty organization I have waited this very moment, the moment when I will carry out my vengeance."

"Vengeance? What are you talking about?" Jupiter's bewilderment was apparent in his voice.

"Playing innocent, eh? Since we're talking about mistakes, let's start yours." Jon said. "Why did you kill Celine Ramirez?"

Upon hearing her sister's name, Celestine stopped struggling in her chair and waited for Jupiter's response.

"We told you already, we don't have anything to do with her death. The CIA found out about your project. They deemed it as a threat and killed her for it."

"Lies! I've met the hired killer you paid. He told me everything. You haven't realized it yet but your second mistake is hiring him again to make sure I don't talk when I was captured. That's when he fell into my hands."

"Yes, we have her killed! It was Ares who hired the assassin since she threatened to tell the media about the project. You know we can't let it happen. Ares is now gone. He's dead. Celine's death is avenged."

"Yes, you're right. Ares is dead. His plane crashed into a prison in Manila. Unfortunate isn't it, Celestine?" His moved his eyes to Celestine who had realized what Jon had meant. The plane that crashed on the prison was same plane Ares boarded. Jon managed to kill the person who ordered to assassinate her and escape from prison. She has a feeling that those two events happening in one place wasn't a coincidence.
