The Wizard and I: Book One of the Wicked Amy Chronicles

Chapter 1

It's been about a couple of years since I got twisted into the War of Oz. Well, 18 months, to be exact. Life is sort of nice, the occasional fight and no major deaths. I even squeeze in a few dates with Nox in between lessons with Glamora, Mambi, and crew. Now Dorothy is up to something now and again and I haven't been able to fight more often but that's actually good. We even saved the Wizard, who actually has magic. He kept it secret because, as I know too well, people don't seem so keen on people who can make a woman float by just snapping his/her fingers. But, I digress. He has been helping me control my magic and now I can breathe fire! Well, little sparks of fire but he says that how it starts. The Wizard also tells us stories of his daughter, Elphaba. How she was born without him knowing, and her sister was cruel. He even admitted that her sister wasn't his child, the woman he loved was married to someone else. Every time he talks of Elphaba, both Glamora and he get sad looks, like she was their friend.

Today was a strange day, not like horror movie strange but close to it. I woke up and got dressed in this nice purple shirt and tight black jeans, slipping into some boots. I fast walked down the stairs and into the dinning room where no body was seen. Just empty except for a few streamers here and there. I walked to the head of the table and found a small piece of paper folded over. I picked it up and read:

Dear Amy,
We are so sorry we didn't wake you up but we had to all go out and get something. Don't expect us to be coming home on time. Like we do that.

I sighed and looked at the table to see a large cake with the words "Happy Two Year Anniversary Amy!" I smiled sadly and went to cut a small piece when a voice called out, "Hey, you gonna share?" I looked up to see the Wizard.
"Yeah, it has been two years for both of us. But, why did they only make me a..." I peeked over and saw a small cake in front of him, saying, "And the Wizard!"
"So they made us both a cake. Did you get the note?" He shook his head and I handed it to him. He skimmed through it and nodded, "Yes, apparently there is two new things in town that have caused trouble for DG."
DG was code for Dorothy so we didn't trigger any bad memories the Wizard had. I made my hands go in a circular motion, wanting him to explain.
"Oh! Well, one is that a buttload of new prisoners have filled the dungeon of Oz. All those arrested claim to be from Kansas and were in school when a twister hit and threw them here. Their school fell but they all escaped in time. Their leader was a pregnant girl who said she would, 'Make sure no one hurt her baby and Chris'? I don't know." I nodded.
"Sounds a lot like kids from my high school. They are gonna break them out?" The Wizard nodded and sighed, "And, the second concerns a new witch. No one actually knows what she looks like because everything but her eyes are covered, even her hands! She blasts fire balls out of her hands and kidnapped Glinda."
"Wow, so Miss Smiles-a-lot got a frown on her face." He nodded again and sighed.
"What's wrong?"
"This new witch reminds me of my daughter. True, no one thought she was pretty but I knew her to be beautiful. Even with g-" he slapped a hand over his mouth, not continuing his sentence. At that point, Nox, Mambi, and Glamora returned with the high school kids. The Wizard and I stood up to greet them when I saw the leader.
Madison. And she didn't look happy.

We got everyone their own rooms and met with Madison and Chris. Madison was tapping her foot impatiently and Chris was taking in everything. As soon as she saw me, Madison spat, "Oh look. Salvation Amy is here to save us! What's she gonna do, kick dirt at the scarecrow thingy?" I facepalmed before gesturing to Nox to get a dummy out. He set it up about 20 feet away and, without looking, I held out my hand, palm facing it, and shot out a huge fireball. Madison's mouth was open near the floor and Chris seemed to want to kiss my feet in mercy wanting.
"I guess Salvation Amy is actually gonna save your ass." Nox appeared behind me, just in time for me to punch him in the stomach.
"Don't call me that. So, Madison," I face back to her, "How in heaven and hell did you get to Oz?"
"Oz? You mean that story with going over rainbows and shit?" I nodded and gestured around me. She crossed her arms and huffed.
"A tornado came while we were at school taking our Finals. We hid, but ended up here in Freak land."
"Good for you. Karma, for once, was actually a bitch to you." She gasped as I led her to her room.
"I want to be with Chris!"
"Sorry, rules say you can't be in the same bedroom as your opposite gender. We don't want another Chris Jr. or Sally. Okay?" She huffed as I closed the door on her. Nox got Chris in the room across from her and we locked the door.
"Can't have you breaking rules."

We walked back to the dinning room where we saw the Wizard being held down at fireball point by the masked witch. She looked up and saw us and as she went to strike us, she was thrown against the wall, knocking some of her mask down. She pulled it back up and looked to me in panic as she smoked herself out of the room. I stood in silence as everyone tried to get me out of my trance. The girls skin... Was green.

New story! Wow, right? I happen to love Dorothy Must Die and thought, "Hmmm... Will my readers like it? Who knows?" So, I wrote it. Should I continue or nah?
