"So, you like the Pyro," Engie's Texan voice cut the air as you almost choked on your sandwich.
"What? Who told you that?" you ask, intrigued. You and Engie were best friends, always coming out behind the RED base to eat lunch together. You talked about things, work-related, non-work-related, things that you would probably never tell anyone else.
But you hadn't told him this. It's true. The masked man made your heart flutter when you were around him. Pyro was sweet. He could tell when you had a bad day and was always there with a comforting gloved hand on your shoulder.
The first day you arrived at the RED base, Pyro had greeted you warmly. Sadly, like almost everyone else, you could not understand his muffled sounds. Engie could, though.
Speaking of Engie, he chuckled at your remark.
"No one told me. I could just tell."
You sighed in defeat. Was it really that obvious? No way. It couldn't be. Unless...
"Yes, Engie. I do. But, please, don't tell anyone."
He made a zipper motion over his mouth.
"Lips are sealed! But, you'd better tell him, (Y/N)."
"Why's that?" you ask, looking over at Engie.
"I'm sure Pyro loves your company. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt the same way."
You sighed.
"Don't make this harder than it needs to be, Engie. Anyways, I gotta go. It's ceasefire day. I promised Pyro we'd hang out. Bye!" you said, standing up and leaving, waving at Engie.
He waved back with a smile plastered on his face.
You made your way through the halls, naming off the rooms until you reached Pyro's. You'd been inside many times before. You and him would hang out in his room. Sometimes, you would read him stories. Other times, you would sit there on the floor and just talk. He would respond, but you couldn't understand him.
You knocked on the door. A muffled shout came from inside of the room. The doorknob rattled, and then the door opened, Pyro at the door, holding his beloved Balloonicorn in his arms. He made a muffled sound of joy as he stepped to the side, inviting you in. You stepped into the room, greeted by the same familiar rainbow fairy lights that hung from the ceiling. Posters hung from the walls, covered in glittery unicorns with lollipops in their mouths. His bed, standard in every merc's room, was unique in the way that stuffed animals were scattered along the bed, its bright coloured sheets acting as a floor that the plushies stood or layed on. Pyro was creative with his space, no doubt about it.
Pyro followed you inside, bouncing with every step. You sat down on a large rainbow rug that sat in the middle of his room. He plopped down in front of you, pointing to the book. He made a sound of excitement as you opened the book. You looked up at him and smiled, blushing lightly. Clearing your throat, you began to read.
"The lords and nobles of Phaiákia were tipping wine to the wakeful god, to Hermês- a last libation before going to bed-"
Cough.
"But down the hall Odysseus went unseen..."
Cough, cough.
Your voice started to quiver. It was common for Pyro to have coughing fits, but something seemed off about this. Your voice shaking, you continued.

FanficHeya! Just to warn you, I suck at writing... But, there will be lemon/smut ones (I'll go more into detail about this in the warnings/stuff) but it won't be very kinky or anything. Sorry...
