Chapter 27~Confidence and Reassurance...

Chihiro's POV:

That's Mukuro's picture...this has her information in it. I get closer to Makoto and browse through her profile. So...she's the Ultimate Soldier...not really a talent I was expecting. She gave me some information about things that I might find during the investigation, but never really told me anything about herself. I sigh some. I guess I get why she hid information about herself...no one, except for the mastermind, was supposed to know that she was in this killing game or really even existed.

"How do you know about Mukuro Ikusaba...?" Byakuya asks, making me look at him. "Well Ah...she's...the one who helped me get back into the game" I say, making his eyes widen some. "You've met her?" He gets closer towards me, "Does she know who the mastermind is...? Tell us everything she's told you." He says, making me shake my head. "I can't...I will say that she has given me information that you guys are just now figuring out." I say, making Byakuya irritated. "Why do you have to withhold information...? If you would just tell us everything, we wouldn't have to do this investigation!" He says in a semi angry tone. I'm not surprised that he, of all people, is acting this way...

I take a breath, "You guys have to do this trial and win in order to leave." I look down some, "Mukuro said that you guys have to find out everything yourselves...I can't be your cheat sheet and tell you who the mastermind is..." I say, making Byakuya sigh some. "Then what's the point of you being here if we have to do this ourselves...?" He says, me going silent for a moment. I'm...honestly not sure what I need to do...all I know is that I have to help them get out, but...how do I-

"We need him." I'm snapped out of my thoughts by Makoto, who stands in between us, "I know that he has a purpose for being here...everything happens for a reason." He looks at me, "I'm sure that him being here will help us beat the mastermind!" He says with a bright smile, surprising me some. Makoto...has a lot of confidence in me. I look down a bit. He believes in me...like the others outside the killing game do...

I sigh a bit and look back up at Makoto, smiling some, "I'll help you...we'll help each other...~" I put my hand on his shoulder, "I'll need yours, Byakuyas, and everyone else's help with this trial...~" I say, making Makoto smile and Byakuya nod. "We'll do our best~!" He says, Byakuya crossing his arms and looking away from us. "I won't give the mastermind the satisfaction of beating me...so I'll make sure they lose." he says, making Makoto laugh some. I smile a bit. At least I know that Byakuya will help us...~ I honestly thought he wouldn't the whole time I've been here, but I guess I judged him too quickly.

I put up the file and start heading out of the Headmaster's room, "Let's continue looking for evidence...I want to make sure we've gotten what we needed before the trial starts." I say, them both agreeing and following me out. I can't waste anymore time...everyone's waiting for us. I sigh a bit. I hope Mondo is doing okay...I'm sure that he's really worried about me right now...I smile a bit to myself. I'll come back to you Mondo...I promise~

Mondo's POV:

"Mondo...you need to get some rest..." Mukuro says, me sighing a bit and putting my hand on Chihiro's pod. "I'll rest once he's out of the killing game..." I say, making her sigh some. "I understand your concerns, but you have to trust in Chihiro..." Mukuro says, making me look down some. "I know...I do trust him, but...I just..." I tighten my fist some, "I don't want to lose him...not again..." I say as she pulls up a chair next to me. I get that Mukuro just wants to reassure me, but...I can't help but worry.

"You know...I really do love my sister..." Mukuro says, making me look over at her, "I followed her around and admired her...I'd do and agree with what she says...despite betraying me. I don't want to lose her, but...as long as she lives...she's a threat to everyone." She looks down some, "She would continue making more killing games...this time without me in it, meaning that I won't be able to save the participants that get killed like I did with you guys." I look down a bit. I...didn't think about how she would feel about this whole situation. She's gonna lose her sister...like I lost my brother.

She sighs some and looks at me, "It may not be the same way, but I get what you went through with your brother..." Mukuro puts a hand on my shoulder, "I get it, but you can't let it overtake your thoughts...you have to move on. I know it's hard, but I know that your brother would want you to..." she says, making me sigh some. "Yea...I know" I say as I lean against Chihiro's pod, "Chihiro told me that..." I smile a bit, "If it wasn't for him, I don't know what I'd do...he's...helped me a lot."

Mukuro thinks to herself some, laughing a bit, "I'm sure that your brother is happy for you both...~" she says, making me look over at her. "Yea...though he'd probably be the third wheel, trying to embarrass me...~" I say, laughing some, "I'm sure him and the guys would have a fun time telling Chihiro about how reckless and childish I was back then." I look back at the pod, "I won't keep all that from him though...I'm sure he would enjoy hearing those stories, so I'll talk about them with him when all of this is over..."

I smile a bit. Daiya...if you are watching me right now...I hope that you'll be proud of me. I'm getting stronger...like you wanted...~ I look down some. He said that some day, I'd find someone that will truly change my life...that would help me change for the better...heh...I didn't believe him. I told him I didn't need anyone like that...that he was all I needed, but I was wrong and careless back then. Chihiro is...who I really needed in my life...not just Daiya.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear a familiar voice, "Hello everyone! It's time for the finaaaaaal trial!" I look up, seeing Monokuma on the TV, "Will the Mastermind be defeated~? Will the rest of the participants lose~? Will that irritating AI be destroyed~? Tune in to find out!" He says, making me tighten my fists. Fucking Monokuma...I shake away my thoughts and take a breath, bringing my focus back to the trial. "It's time..." Mukuro says, me nodding. "Yea..." I say as I sigh some. You can do this Chihiro...beat that fucking bitch.
