Business over pleasure

Chapter 5

Veronica covered  her mouth she was shocked at her own words she has never cursed at her boss or even at work for that matter all she could do was just stare down. She could feel her Boss intense glare at her.

"I think its best if you leave miss Calhoun"

Veronica immediately took of happily, she felt emotions happy that she finally spoke her mind but also scared that she could possibly lose her promotion and job. She cursed herself slightly blaming Ahmad thinking he was the reason she was behaving this way normally she was civilised but slowly she was becoming unhinged.

"YOU DID WHAT" Imani yelled looking at her friend as if she was crazy.

"I know but can you not yell and draw attention to yourself please." Veronica sighed looking around the staff break room hoping everyone minded their business.

"Ok im sorry but i must admit im shocked you did that, i wouldnt have guess you would curse at your boss" She said while slightly beginning to laugh 

Veronica playfully smacked her friend "Are you serious i might lose my Job and you are here laughing at me"

"Im sorry but you gotta admit Ronnie that must have felt good, I hope to be as brave as you. Mr Ross is beginning to become even more of a jerk." 

"It did feel good but that doesnt mean you should copy what i did, im just scared my job is on the line" She said while sipping her coffee.

"I know girl but dont wor-"

"Veronica could i please speak to you for a moment"

Veronica's eyes widened knowing that voice and the fact he referred to her as her first name had her and Imani both shook she knew deep down she was definitely in trouble as she looked in the direction of Ahmad's calm demeanour she was hoping to avoid him but that couldn't work as she is his assistant.

Without a reply Ahmad made his was back to his office, its like he knew she was following him behind because he didn't even bother to look behind him

Veronica wanted to look up at him show she wasn't scared but she had to be smart this same man could still get her fired if he was to tell her actual boss.

"Firstly, I would like to say that incident can never happen again and when i say never i mean never I'm an understanding man but i will not tolerate such foolery. There could have been better ways to address this situation, and for you to think that the reason you haven't been credited is due to a minor incident such as spilling coffee on me really speaks volume and i must say im insulted that you would think something so moronic would make you think of me as an asshole."

As he was speaking Veronica felt even more perturbed at the incident because him repeating the situation to her made her look crazy and  and out of control.

"I'm sorry that was indecent of me i guess ive been stressed out because i didnt feel taken seriously" She slightly huffed"

"Well try to not let it effect on your work, i should have reported this to Mr Ross because i dont take insults such as yours lightly but i would for now."

Veronica nodded, the way he looked at her showed he wasn't into any games and made him more intimidating she began to walk away.

"I'll see i talk to the board about letting you in."

"Are you serious" she said with a little glee

"Do i look like im kidding, this project clearly seems important to you and like you said we have been using your ideas so we should allow you to be part of it."

She smiled at him "Thank you Mr Tate" she then proceeded to her desk 

Unbeknownst to her Ahmad felt a pang in his chest at the fact that she had smiled at him. She had genuinely smiled and he couldn't help that he wanted to see her smile more at him. With that he resumed to his work

The next day at work she wasn't expecting anything new

As she was writing up her summary she heard her name being called she looked up seeing Ahmad looking at her she took the time to fully analyse his look and also to appreciate how handsome he is. She loved the long dreads on him she liked when he would put in a man bun. she couldn't help but appreciate his physique his broad shoulders and the way he carried himself she wanted to be picked up by him. His succulent two-toned lips that was big and juicy for her to suck on she watched as lips moved in slow motion as if she was in a film.

"So are you coming or not"

Veronica came out of her trace now looking completely flustered she hadn't heard a thing he said and was  now going to look even more moronic she just decided to say yes and keep it moving. She was praying to GOD that she didnt set herself up to anything and that he hadnt noticed.

But he had noticed, he noticed her eyes practically undressing him and he took the time to do the same he loved her hair. She currently had long braids in her hair that would reach to her butt. He loved how plumped her lips was the fresh clear skin she had and how she barely even had to wear makeup. He couldnt lie to himself Veronica was very much indeed an attractive woman some would even say pulchritudinous. Plus her height was a bonus to him he liked tall woman but in all reality he would still sleep with any girl that spread her legs open to him and would kick them out as soon as he ejaculated. 

To not be late to her meeting he quickly invited her to the meeting, but he could still see she was in a trance so he repeated himself.

He saw the way she was spooked and embarrassed she didnt know that when she is embarrassed she bites her lip. He thought it was cute and sexy.

Following him into the elevator, Veronica just stood there she wanted to ask him what he said but she knew that would make her admit she wasnt listening and she would rather follow him to no where than admit her ignorance she was stubborn like that.

When the door finally opened she followed him to a room where she saw all the men and the title for Gallington.

"Alright everyone lets discuss more ideas and construction for the construction team"

Veronica looked at Ahmad but he didnt look in her direction. However, she was in awe

He listened he actually listened and helped her.
